How long does it take yu to convert? It takes me 3 freaking hours to convert 5 TVB episodes. Anyone know why it takes so long? Is there a way to make it faster?

It could also be the type of program you use... i personally use WinAVI, it's fast and efficient to use.

Depends what format you converting to, type of program you using, and your comp's specs (sounds as if you have a bad processor )

to convert faster you'll need more ram or like more cores i think, but i think ram will affect it more....it takes me like 1 hour to convert 5-7 eps (depends on the quality) and like 20 mins to burn.

I remember my old computer took like an hour to convert 1 ep... now my new computer can convert an ep in 5mins lol

  11. ^ i also saw that change when i started converting movies into DVD player - playable formats... would take forever to convert that one movie, but then again i used avi2dvd with the best settings so it was slower for quality

ram shouldnt make much of a difference compared to upgrading the CPU since its the CPU doing all the encoding work

also you could go for as many cores as you can get, but then that depends on whether the program you use is multi-threaded

ram do make a bit difference but not by much.. mostly cpu... takes me about 3 hours to convert 10-15 eps to a dvd from rmvb... and about 1 hour or less for 5 ep...

ye the speed depends on the speed of ur processor, my one takes about 4.5hours to convert 10 episodes and also the size and quality output. ram doesn't rele play a big role in this.

It all depend on your cpu, and the size & quality.

My old system convert the 353*240 vcd quality take around 30min.. but i use Tmpgenc.

Well you can try convert while you sleep..

or u can just convert and leave it on and do something else then come back to it cos i personally think leaving the comp for a whole night is damaging to the comp.

damage the computer for leave it 24/7?? well indeed i think it is true, but who will use their pc for 10yr?. I think most pc can last 10yr+ so if you leave it 24/7 u still have more than 5yr+ to go..

Even the pc will failure, then it must be the powersupply (psu).
