    Cast:
Ray Lui | Cecelia Yip | Simon Lui

It's the story of kidnapper-of-tycoons'-children Cheung Tse-keung again, as seen recently in Operation Billionaires. Ray Lui plays the honourable Dai Fu-keung and Cecilia Yip his loyal de-facto. Back in 1991, Dai hooks up with future accomplice Ah Seven in a prison stint. Freed from prison, Dai teams up with his long-serving partner Fox (straight-faced and stubbly Simon Loui) and Seven's HK-fugitive boss Dumb Dog (Yu Rong-guang) to kidnap a billionaire's son or two. With Dumb Dog taken out early in the piece, Dai goes on to relieve a billionaire property developer of $1.038 billion (thoughtful lucky numbers) in exchange for his kidnapped son. Basically, it's deja-vu from the Simon Yam version of this story - dynamite under the jacket, expensive tastes in food, etc - except for some better impersonators. A plot twist passes by and the shady set up between the SAR and Chinese authorities brings to the conclusion the previous film couldn't reach - the former hit the screens the day the Cheung Tse-keung trial started.

Ray Lui plays the Big Spender with plenty of gusto and it's all fairly good fun. News flashes and gory headlines flash by to remind you how exiting all this was. Pity the film isn't. A mirthful hospital scene pulled audience "tsk tsks" and an emotion-heavy Cecilia Yip moment received giggles from the back row. Regardless, it's all pretty enthusiastic stuff. And besides, it's all based on a true story (the "Any coincidence to persons living or dead..." nonsense is a giveaway again).
