Due to scheduling conflicts, Chilam Cheung (張智霖) had to turn down a 10 million RMB offer to appear in the second season for the Chinese reality show Where Are We Going, Dad? <爸爸去哪兒> with his son. However, Chilam has managed to earn all that money back in the second season of the survival show 2 Days & 1 Night <兩天一夜>. 2 Days & 1 Night, produced by Dragon Television, is adapted from the Korean KBS reality show of the same name, which is one of South Korea’s most popular weekend shows with consistent high ratings. The cast members of 2 Days & 1 Night were tasked to travel to rural areas and cities with cultural heritage in China and experience wildlife with no access to modern technology. Chilam was hired for 10 million RMB to appear in five episodes. Cast members of the second season also include Chinese actor Zhang Fengyi (張豐毅), Hong Kong actor Deric Wan (溫兆倫), and Korean singer Kangta (安七弦). For this season, the cast members traveled to the Yinchuan desert and visited the matriarchal Mosuo village in Yunnan. Some fans who have followed the cast members in their travels shared some photos online. Chilam was seen traveling around the city with a bike and pedaling a wooden boat. With “survivor” as its theme, Chilam and the cast members are tested for his survival skills in the wild. Although filming was difficult, Chilam developed a close relationship with the cast and crew. He has learned a lot, and that all the hardships he had to endure while filming the show were worth the sacrifice. Creds: Oriental Daily
