I was watching this thing on the history channel about this guy who went around the world to see tattoos from different cultures and the technique they used. He stopped by Japan and met with an old man who used the traditional Japanese tattooing technique, he was incredible.
^ ooh...yeah that must hurt heaps...the old skool way... with a little hammer thingy right...ouch.... cant imagine how much that hurts....

i actually want a dragon head starting at my forearm and its tail twisting upwards until it curls around my chest lol
There were some areas of the world that uses the tapping method where a pointed stick was tapped into the skin by striking it with another stick but the Japanese traditional style was quick stabs by hand. The most painful one though was directly sewing the ink into the skin.
@ fearless: I was thinking having the dragon head sort of start under my left collar bone and then curl its way over my left shoulder diagonal down my back between my shoulder blades and end just past my waist on my right hand side. But I dno whether or not to go black ink only or go with colour.... x
