Bobby Au Yeung was one of the top 5 finalists in the running for the Best Actor Award in the 35th Annual International Emmys. The awards ceremony was held at the New York Hilton Hotel on Monday, November 19th. Bobby received critical acclaim for his role in "Dicey Business" and was nominated for the Best Actor Award. Although he did not bring home the award in the end, he was extremely honored to attend the event with his wife. Versace sponsored Bobby and his wife's evening attire while Bvlgari provided their jewelery. However due to the thin fabric of their sponsored clothes, Bobby's wife had to purchase a Gucci rabbit fur coat in order to stay warm. Since the weather was extremely cold in New York, Bobby's nose was wind-whipped and became red. Since Bobby was among the top 5 finalists, he was given a special medallion, which he wore while attending the International Emmys Awards ceremony.Bobby was grateful for the support of TVB executive, Virginia Lok and Chow Yun Fat, who called him to congratulate Bobby on his nomination. Chow Yun Fat said that the nomination was already a top honor and was equivalent to winning an award. Chow also advised Bobby to bring along sleeping pills to adjust for the time difference. Liza Wang also told Bobby to continue with his hard efforts. Although Bobby did not win the Best Actor Award, he felt extremely happy and honored. Bobby's good friends, Jessica Hsuan, Nick Cheung Ka Fai, Ron Ng Cheuk Hei, Louis Yuen Siu Cheung, and Moses Chan Ho offered the following words of support: Nick Cheung: "Congratulations to Bobby! Although he lost out on the Best Actor Award, but he already achieved top honors. No actor in Hong Kong has ever been nominated for the International Emmys before. However, Bobby should be grateful that I am no longer filming series, otherwise he would not have gotten nominated!" Jessica Hsuan: "Since Bobby's nomination is a first among Hong Kong actors, this will be a memorable lifetime achievement. Thus, there is no need for Bobby to be disappointed!" Moses Chan: "Transgressing beyond Hong Kong, Bobby has been extraordinary! In my mind, he already won. Bobby serves as my motivation and is one of my most admired actors. Hopefully, we have a chance to collaborate together again!" Ron Ng: "As one of his good friends, I am extremely proud of him. Although he did not bring home the award, he already won in my mind." Louis Yuen: "Since the establishment of TVB 40 years ago, Bobby has been the only actor nominated for this honor. Thus he is already the pride of Hong Kong."
