Are male drivers better than female drivers or are female drivers better than males? Personally i find all guys on the road (including myself) complete a**holes... we're always trying to get to the destination faster and most of us have a BIG problem with letting other people pass us. Women on the other hand are generally safe and MUCH friendlier to fellow drivers but there are so many of them that are just such incompetent drivers. And for some reason the incompetent women all come out at once during weekend mornings. You dont see them much during any other time... the women you see driving any other time are fine. <_< a bit on the slow side but nevertheless fine
i would say 50/50. i see some males drive crazy and i do see some females drive crazy too so it's hard to say.
I think males are way better drivers. I always wonder why there are more good male drivers then female drivers. What's the reason? Because most of the men have better reflects? Or are they not scared? That's the main things that is needed to be a good driver. Yearly I made apprx. 45.000kms (28.000miles), every day I see more bad women drivers then bad men drivers. I'm especially annoyed by all those asian woman mini-van drivers.
As stated in an earlier post, male and female drivers are equal. I know good and bad drivers of both sexes.
Guys are better drivers. Women have tunnel vision when it comes to driving for some reason. They only see what's infront of them. They don't check their mirrors every so often and see what cars are near them. Whenever someone does some stupid driving in front of me, I make it an effort to pass them so if anything else happens, I won't be involved. I always guess if it's a guy or girl as I drive pass them... I guess girl just about everytime and for some reason, I'm hardly ever wrong. haha.
This is such an absolute farce. If women are such terrible drivers, explain why we have lower insurance rates. I drive, and I can say fairly that I am better than most male drivers that I know. If you propose that reckless is better, then I suppose men are better drivers. I think on average, women are less aggressive drivers than men. It is apparent when you see that most racecar drivers (professional) are men rather than women. That's why, on average, the insurance rates for women are lower than for men. However, if you look at it on a case-by-case basis, it is not entirely the case. Take, for example, a man in his 40s who has not yet had any moving violations since the day he got his license, and a woman who has gotten 5 speeding tickets within 3 years. The woman will obviously have to pay more for insurance. But tell me, what is the likelihood that a man, who is going through his mid-life crisis driving in his red ferrari, will run you off the road as opposed to an 'asian woman mini van driver'? That's why women, on average, do not pay as much for car insurance. P&C insurance (property & casualty) is generally not community-rated (one rate for everybody in the census). It is more experience rated than anything.
one of my aunts drives like 40 on the interstate when everyone else is going like 80. My other aunt always drives liek 20 over the speed limit. I think its more of a personality thing. I just couldn't stand getting passed by so many people since i'm so impatient.
So this one is going to be a lot shorter... Aggression is not what makes bad drivers. The worse drivers are the people that don't watch where they are going! They will enter a lane or merge into a lane when they feel like it, cutting people off, and causing a line of cars to slam their brakes. There are also the people that think they own the road and travel at speeds that they feel are comfortable like 60mph in the fast lane while the flow of traffic is 75. I encounter way more female drivers doing these things than male drivers. If you are referring to a midlife crisis guy owning a sports car, you'd be surprised that they are safer than you think. These 40 year old guys are much more responsible and mature. These type of cars are also not cheap (relative to the guy), so they take extra effort to take care of the car and keep it safe. I'm no where near that age, but if I owned a red ferrari, you can bet I'd take care of it like my life depends on it. There are safe times for driving aggressively such as open mountain roads, these midlife crisis guys probably know better than anybody. There are more guy drivers than women drivers. The average guy also drives more than the average gal. As a result, the chances of guys being involved in accidents are also greater. Yes, the newly licensed teenage guy drivers always think they are the ish and can do anything without getting in an accident, so they give the rest (and most) of us awesome guys a bad wrap. The racecar driver only shows 1 of 2 things. That the best drivers in the world are all male, or women tend to not care about that type of adreneline rush. Driving too slow is actually against the law and can be ticketed for not going the flow of traffic. They become a road hazard as cars will need to avoid them. It greatly increases your chances of being rear ended. Slower doesn't always mean safer.
-clapclap took the words straight out of my mouth... guys drive more than girls so therefore more accident. if it was averaged out to accidents caused per road driven then girls are the ones who cause more accidents. However i still think guys are generally more reckless... girls are usually bad at driving, BUT they always suck at a safe speed... fatal accidents are DOMINATED by guys. But then i guess it comes down to the individual since there are a lot of good girl drivers and many guys are safe responsible drivers as well.
True that. The SUVs are bigger, but hardly reliable or safer than a car. I think women buy them thinking they are more safe, but in fact German cars give the best protection and have the most safety features installed before almost anyone in the market. I'd never own a US built truck, or car. AND...I totally agree that women have very bad vision when it comes to driving on the road. They also have really slow reflexes!
Wait a second... I think you need to qualify your statements. It's not only the women who are reckless. True, women have a slower reaction time than men in most situations, but nonetheless, there are men who are just as bad, if not worse, when it comes to driving. A lot of soccer moms are driving around in SUVs because they're just more stylish than minivans. Plus, what sedan do you know of that can fit 5+ kids in it?? Women are probably driving around in their big SUVs because their husbands are buying them those cars. & German cars? Yeah, try replacing your dash or airbags... it'll cost you an arm & a leg. Once the airbag deploys, your car is totalled.
I have seen some crazy women driving talking on their phones and not paying attention and all. Stupid crap to watch out for. Cell phones...how stupid. Though as a guy myself, men are worse drivers. Someone posted about how guys are a**holes on the road. Well, that is so true. I had one guy pull out in front of me(about 5 feet away) when I had the right to turn with my signal on. Idiot.
a lot of girls don't like driving at all. whereas a lot of guys love to drive. this is probably why guys are better drivers because they enjoy it more and are more careful.
Well, I guess I kinda agree that women have slower reflexes compared to men. I got my L a few months ago and drove less than 10 times. My driving teacher's my dad and he teaches me stuff. However, I always find that I can't drive in the middle of the road. I'm either too close to the yellow line, or too close to the sidewalk. I drive a long and wide car so it's hard to have a clear view of the distance between the car and the area around me. Another issue is that if I'm on the main road and a car is waiting to get out, I always tend to slow down so the driver in that car can come out. >.< According to the rules, I'm not supposed to slow down to let him in. But I'm afraid that if I don't slow down, the car wanting to get out will suddenly come out and hit me.
When I'm driving, I always see people sway from left to right. Nobody is ever really in the center of their driving lane. One theory that I've come up with is that if the top left corner of your car is aligned with the lane lines, then you are travelling directly in the center of the lane. This works for every car and on every road. If you are behind a car, just follow that car, and you should be ok. As for the cars merging in, when you see that there are cars waiting to get in, a lot of people (at least in CA) will change lanes to the next lane over so that the cars can get in. You shouldn't slow down to let the cars in because the cars behind you will not anticipate such. Also, I'd suggest you getting a wide-angled mirror (I like the broadway ones) so as to lessen the number of blind spots in your car.
I heard on TV men are over confident, women under confident so you get good and bad cases on both sides. Personally from what I have seen, unless your a total twat men are generally better. This is based from what I have experienced as a driver and from what I have seen from my female and male friends learing to drive
nnnooooooo drive in canada, on the 401 or the DVP during rush hours, youre gonna see. all the wreckless drivers that i witness are majority females. i love women, but when it comes to driving, everyone for themselves. it is true about the reflects of men. in psychology, you learn that men were build to hunt, thus were given the ability to have great reflects. some women do have great reflects but not all. women have tunnel vision because they were made to worry about more detailed work. thus, based on psychology, the majority of "better" drivers are men because they were gifted with better reaction skills. thats what my prof said
