You could have easily put this picture at the "Picture Thread" and now you all going to be like, "OMG, take a chill pill, what's the big freaking deal!!" Just an unorthadox interpretation of a well established faith. You could compare it against Scientology's religious mythos and its not even as far fetched. Sometimes encouraging controversy is the only method to encourage re-evaluation of untested belief. I've spent the last two weeks reading about Israel commiting religious based genocide in Gaza. After looking at pictures of dozens of dead children I am feeling rather anti-religion at the moment; and this person's humorous interpretation of Christian 'testament' syncs well with my mood.
^ I had no problem with the statment you made there but the picture you posted has nothing to do with the things you said All I'm trying to say is that by posting a picture with no information at all is clearly an intent to offend someone within the Christian faith and if you were to post that one picture, you might as well put it in the "Picture Thread"

It has everything to do with the pic. That person's post is an overwhelmingly ridiculous interpretation of what many consider to be a serious subject. It makes me wonder how people can use religion to justify so many things. Thousands of years of war in the middle east over holy lands, Islam vs. Judaism vs. Christianity. And all because of what? a bunch of old paper which can be interpreted in various ways. I just found it appropriate due to the fact that current events have seen religious based hate escalating exponentially in the middle east.The ridiculousness of that post reflects well my current feelings about the negative affects of religion in modern society and the shoddy reasoning behind it all. Everyone is entitled to their subjective opinion, forums thrive off of it, you are entitled to yours. also, I'm not trying to single out christinanity, had the post been an amusing anecdote about the origin of islam i would have posted that. Actually, considering the excerpts I have read from the koran that would have been even funnier. Mohammed was a pretty hilarious guy. Unfortunately you don't see as many jokes about Islamic origin... it probably has something to do with the fact that people get killed when you start joking about the Religion of Peace.

I agree with you THere is a point of what is and is not appropriate. I did enjoy your argument, but because you did just leave a picture and that's it, it looks like you ARE just being RUDE. If you had made this into a discussion from the beginning of explaining yourself then showed the picture I think the whole vibe would have been more of an intellectual debate instead of people just getting just getting upset or cheering you on because you used the picture used some curse words when describing the actions in the bible.

People should not take this picture seriously in the first place. Those who know or have heard of 4chan should know about their infamous /b/ - Random section. That section should not be taken seriously in the first place. Now, granted fearless should have added the word "Discuss" in it, even without it, people should not be pissing buckets over something so insignificant as a comedy picture from /b/, Now again, it is unnecessary for people to be shitting bricks over this. Despite the crude interpretation from /b/ of the Bible, we can't say that it is complete nonsense. fearless makes a good point that this is merely a far-fetched interpretation, one of endless interpretations in the world. This is a satirical cartoon, much like the caricatures of editorial cartoons in newspaper. This is merely an exaggeration based on the interpretation of non-christians on the Bible, but the point i see from this picture is that people from non-christian background can think whatever they want about any other religions other than theirs. I am also under the impression that when non-christians are being coerced, or in other words, under the situation where one is trying to convert them into christianity, OR even when an extremist christian makes a claim that the non-christian will go to hell, it merely adds to the far-fetched interpretation of christianity such as this picture. Now, I'm not picking on christianity here, this may happen to any religion.
