ATV Series To Profile Nina Wang's Life

ATV will soon begin filming for their new series Fire Butterfly <火蝴蝶> - a story that tells of a modern woman and her fight to find her position in high society and becoming the chairman of a listed company. The series is said to be based loosely on the story of the hugely successful business tycoon Nina Wang (龔如心), who died in April this year. Set in the background of the high classes, there will be many expensive gowns, luxurious backdrops and dramatic storylines in this production.

A press event was held today to introduce the series and announce start of filming. The cast list is impressive, featuring Rain Li (李彩華) in the leading role and many former TVB artistes among the line-up, which includes Michael Tong (唐文龍), Monie Tung (董敏莉), Patricia Liu (劉綽琪), Joyce Chen (陳彥行), Anson Leung (梁俊一), Cherie Chan (陳少霞), Chim Bing Hei (詹秉熙), Wong Ka Wai (黃嘉威), Lee Loon Ki (李龍基), Lam Wai (林偉), Priscilla Chik (戚黛黛) and William Chow (周子濠).

During the event, the cast introduced their own characters and the leading ladies: Rain, Joyce, Patricia, Monie, Cherie and Priscilla sprayed a picture of a butterfly. A balloon-popping ceremony set the proceedings off with a bang.

Although the story is based on the experiences of Nina, Rain did not appear at the event in the characteristic pigtails of the billionaire. She revealed that she will be playing the character from a young age into maturity, so there will be many different appearances, including the famous braided hair. Michael will be playing Rain's husband in the series and asked if there will be any kissing scenes, she smiled that there will inevitably be some kissing, but she is not sure about bed scenes. She is actually most worried about a watery scene because the weather is starting to get cold and she does not want to catch a chill.

Patricia will be playing Michael's mistress in the show and will be sharing a bed scene with him. She smiled: "I have already filmed a bed scene with Michael when we were at TVB, so we are used to each other now."
