Recently ATV has been attempting to sign numerous former TVB artists. Allegedly, ATV offered Ada Choi Siu Fun a $8 million (HKD) contract. Ada has been with TVB for 16 years and won the My Favorite Actress Award several years ago. ATV would like to sign Ada after "Jewel's Splendor" finishes filming. ATV plans to promote her as their #1 Sister. Aside from Ada, ATV has been actively pursuing Jessica Hsuan, Gallen Lo, Bobby Au Yeung, Kenix Kwok, Frankie Lam and free agent, Nick Cheung Ka Fai. Reporters contacted both ATV and Ada's manager to confirm the rumors. ATV's Public Relations representative said, "The rumors are not reliable. We can not reveal any details at this point. We will release a public statement at the end of the month. At this point, all Hong Kong artists are in our interest." ATV executive, Tsang Sing Ming said, "The rumors are not true. What is true is that Ada is still a contracted artist with TVB. As to who ATV signs, that is dependent on a mutual agreement with the artist. We are not only considering TVB artists, but other artists as well." Mr. Tsang continued, "Artists are not only attracted to ATV's salary, but other advantages we offer as well. We provide a host of opportunities in our programs, as well as a promotional package, increasing the market value of our artists. I'm certain artists will compare which company offers them more independence and opportunities before they decide whom they will sign with." Ada's representative said, "The rumors are false. Perhaps it is best to ask the media source who published such rumors instead." Source: Jayne New
I dont know but...for some reason i dont like ATV series....their always boring...and mostly the cast consist of "b stars from tvb" and ok occasionally there willl be one or two so so tvb stars.... I think Ada should stick to tvb....
It is a shame that a place with 7million people (more oversees) only stick to one channel for drama series. I'd like to see more competition in the TV industry in HK to bring out some better high quality series, and bring out talented artists, not only from TVB, but perhaps those in theatre, film, young graduates etc
I usually can't tell if I'm watching ATV / TVB, though I'm reasonably sure I've been watching TVB all the time.
i heard on the toronto chinese radio AM 1430 after work one afternoon. the dudes on there said that it's true
