Getting ready to commence filming for the action-packed period drama, The Hero‘s <梟雄> cast attended the costume fitting. Besides veterans, Anthony Wong (黃秋生) and Kent Tong (湯鎮業), TVB’s own TV King and Queen, Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) and Myolie Wu (胡杏兒), also star in producer Amy Wong’s . Others include, Jade Leung (梁琤) – who will have a romantic relationship with Wayne, Louisa So (蘇玉華), Natalie Tong (唐詩詠), Alice Chan (陳煒), and Jeanette Leung (梁政珏). Whereas Wayne usually plays the lead protagonist in a series, this time he will turn into a traitor. Wayne does not worry about any audience members hating him. In fact, Wayne believes that the viewers’ hate will validate his acting abilities. “I’ve been a good guy all these years. It’s time to try something new, and become the villainous bad guy for a change.” Myolie, on the other hand, will be involved in a love triangle with Anthony and Louisa. Feeling slightly pressured to perform well in front of a senior, Myolie does not mind if she gets scolded by Anthony – she will take it as a learning experience. She also has to perform Beijing opera in the drama. To add even more drama, Kent will be portraying a playboy who will be involved with Alice, Jeanette, and Natalie. Since Kent will film a rape scene with Natalie, he jokingly expressed that he will have to report to his wife about the upcoming scenes first. Anthony Pays Out Of Own Pocket Compared to Mainland China, TVB pays their artistes a considerably lower salary. When asked if the station paid $400,000 HKD per episode, Anthony exclaimed, “That’s crazy. How could TVB pay $400,000 HKD per episode. More like $400,000 for the entire 30 episodes.” Anthony shockingly revealed that he had to pay $100,000 HKD from his own pocket in order to cover the costs for filming The Hero in Mainland, including hotel and food costs, “It’s to ensure that I rest properly allowing me to recover quicker.” Creds: Oncc
