Anyone know how to get rid of an annoying fake program called spyware quake. I got rid of it once and now i dont know how to get rid of it.
First, stop the process associated with the program. Stop the following processes using the ctrl+alt+delete feature to get to your task manager: spywarequakeinstaller.exe spywarequake.exe uninst.exe Second, with the processes stopped, try the usual group of spyware removal tools first: -spybot -adaware -spyware blaster -microsoft antispywaare Install each of these separately. Once each is done installing, reboot system. Once you computer boots up, make sure the processes listed above are not running. Then run each individually. Then run them a few more times. Lastly, if none of those don't work, then we'll manually have to get rid of them. Also, Once the scans are complete, try manually removing the app from the control panel. Knoc
ok, its gone for good, but i am still getting pop ups such as (Win a free Xbox 360, Registry Cleaner Ad) I scanned with Spybot search and destroy but it did not detect anything
if using ie...go to setting n raise security to high n also check option to block popups..or..switch to firefox...also..get a popup blocker...such as google toolbar...
reformatin is another easy option try using spysweeper (knoc recommended this to me a while back) but u hve to pay for removal but reveals some spyware that is probably still present that adware cant so u no whats bugging u so if extreme u culd reformat which what i did while back, spysweepers shield are pretty niffy as well in the end its up to u what u wnt to do i wuld follow knoc's advice and get a popup blocker 1st and c how that follows on with with FF
haha...ok ...listen..firefox will work..u just need to get the right plugin....go get this addon for fox immediately...its called adblock...if that don work..tell me...n update ur fox...n yeah..spysweeper will reveal alota shit...but the free one offers no removal option..unless u get urself a cracked version...

i had similar problems before and manual deleting doesnt work -_- so why dont u windows defender beta @ www.microsoft.com it deletes every spyware for u for free and it helps to prevent future spywares from coming into ur comp
u need sp2 to run that by the way...n it doesn't delete every spyware. but its good to have with other tools..n it was recommeded in the first post replied as a tool to try...

ok, lol I fixed it and there is a new fishy problem. Me and my friend both had spyware quake once. Then yesterday, we both get spyware falcon. Is there some leftover spyware?
