New Years Eve 2007 was particularly special for 13,000 fans who spent the evening with Andy Lau (劉德華) for his Wonderful World Concert 2007 at the Hong Kong Coliseum, counting in the new year with the star with a buzz in the atmosphere that sent everyone, including Andy into mass hysteria.

As the clocks struck midnight, Andy and his dancers let off some party poppers on the stage and received a bottle of champagne from the fans to celebrate the new year. A very excited Andy ran around the stage, repeating the greetings of "Happy New Year" to his fans and giving them hugs, sending them into a frenzy of screams and shouts. Andy then announced that his wishes for 2008: "I hope that everyone in the audience will be happy and let tonight make up for all the unhappy incidents in the past year. I hope that I can get the booking for the Coliseum to hold another concert again soon! Happy new year and may your wishes come true."

As it was the new year, Andy expressed a wish not to sing so many sad love songs at the show and during the encore following the countdown, he went down to the audience to shake hands with his fans and he sustained some injuries as the fans scrambled to touch and kiss him. One male fan even presented Andy with a new year's gift of a watch. When he saw the watch, he asked how much it cost and when he heard that it was worth HK$200,000, he refused to accept it and instructed a security staff member to return it to the fan. He then reminded his fans that rather than buying him gifts, they should donate the money to his charity fund instead.

During the show, another devoted fan shoved their young child into Andy's arms. He was left with no choice but to continue singing with the baby in his arms. Andy's own "children", Andox and Hak Jai (黑仔) also made an appearance, singing along with him for the performance of "Infernal Affairs" <無間道>, winning the applause of the audience. The two cartoon oxen then pretended to fall over, asking Andy who he would rescue first. Andy replied that during his time in showbiz, he has always known that he has to stand up himself if he falls over. Upon hearing this, the audience applauded in admiration.

The concert finally drew to an end at around 12:40 am, but many over-excited fans refused to leave the area, even after Andy had sung his final song "Angel Without Wings" <沒有翅膀的天使> and the main house lights had come back on. Even the announcements urging people to go home did not move the half of the audience who were still shouting for another encore. Police and security guards were also out in force outside to clear the people who remained outside the hall, reluctant to go home after the show.
