Popular idol group, AKB48’s DVD “AKB ga ippai ~The Best Music Video~” (released on June 24th) ranked 3rd and sold 10,000 copies on the Oricon Weekly DVD Ranking for the week of August 1st. In total, the DVD has already sold approximately 324,000 copies and thus, became the top selling female artist DVD of all time. Up until now, Koda Kumi’s DVD “secret ~FIRST CLASS LIMITED LIVE~” (released on September 21, 2005) held its place on the top for four years and eight months with its total sales of 322,000 copies. This music video DVD includes 36 of AKB48 singles starting with “Beginner” to their other popular singles such as “Heavy Rotation” and “Ponytail no Shu Shu”. Congratulations, AKB48!
