Ada Choi Enters Hospital for Blood Blister Surgery

Earlier in the week, Hacken Lee's wife, Emily Lo Suk Yee gave birth to a baby boy, Ryan. Hacken and Emily's good friends, Ada Choi Siu Fun and Edmund Leung Hon Man were spotted at the same hospital the day after the baby's birth.

Reporters thought Edmund and Ada were visiting Hacken's baby, but it turns out that both of them had unstable health conditions. Ada underwent surgery for a blood blister in her vocal cord. She received full body anesthesia for the surgery.

Ada's manager, Miss Chan said, "Ada's voice has been hoarse for a long time. While filming 'Jewel's Splendor,' she often had to yell in many scenes. The doctor said she lost her voice due to inadequate rest. This also caused a blood blister to form on her vocal chord."

"Ada entered the hospital on October 25th for the surgery. She was discharged the following day. The doctor said she will need 2 weeks of rest, where she is not allowed to talk."

Since Gigi Lai Chi took several months off to take care of her brother, who suffered a automobile accident, the filming progress of "Jewel's Splendor" has been delayed. Although Ada will be taking 2 weeks off, this will not delay the filming too much.

Miss Chan said, "There were locations which were already booked for the filming of 'Jewel's Splendor.' Ada was concerned that the booking for some of the locations can not be canceled. She is willing to film the scenes and dub the voice-over later. The earliest she will be able to return to work will be next week."

Ada's good friend, Monica Chan Fat Yung accompanied Ada during her hospitalization. Monica said, "Many people are concerned about Ada's situation. She received numerous calls and text messages. I frequently have a hoarse voice as well. Thus I will have a physician check-up next week to find out the root cause."

Since Ada was often a non-stop talker, it has been difficult for her to follow the doctor's instructions in not using her vocal chords for the next two weeks. Thus she had to vent by slapping her own thigh.

Although Ada was scheduled to film an ad with an advertiser, the project has been postponed until her recovery.




As for Edmund Leung, he just returned from performing in Atlantic City, USA. Before her concert, he fell in the hotel shower and broke his ribs. Edmund was immediately sent to a local hospital. Under the vigil of his doctor, Edmund completed his concert performance and returned to Hong Kong.
