Because this debate was.. I don't know how long but I think longer than one hour, I'm only going to post parts of it. What are your thoughts/reactions? I THINK THIS IS HILARIOUS - Question to one of the atheists: do you hate God/Jesus/Christianity? My thoughts on ^this video: I think Brian does hate Christianity... why not attack Muslims, why not attack Buddhism or anything else? gee. I don't think this debate was bad or anything but I thought this was quite hilarious how he got really angry just because Todd kind of inferred that he hated Christianity in general -sweat Why get all angry if you're purely sharing your views? ehh. I suppose if the atheists didn't get so angry and riled up, I'd have more respect for them which I lost a little when they lost their cool but then again, perhaps I'm biased.
@ Masterg I agree on that. @ CN, i think christianity is guilty to certain extents since throughout history, ppl use the name of Christ to their own ends which eventually led ppl to have negative opinions. Another problem is that ppl see christians as to individuals who SHOULD and COULD do no wrong based on our preaching. Hence, when we make mistakes, ppl would flame God and forget that our human's weakness has nothing to do with Him. Personally, on a side note, in regards whether ppl are atheists or not, and if they are angry, one still should remember to respect them no less bc of that. We might not agree with their thinking or beliefs, but God commanded us to love all even our enemies therefore, we should first and forevermost remember that they deserve respect.
very interesting vids. yes, i do believe that in these type of "debates". anger can become an output to an emotional reaction with frustration. which was clearly depicted in the last video. Brian was not able to refute or defend his position on abortion and etc. therefore, with his frustration and pride of not wanting to lose -- he become angry and lashes out. both sides had some strong points.
in my experience, most (NOT ALL) people are against Christianity because they feel threatened by it in some way. They may live a certain lifestyle that is condemned by the word of God and some people dont like that. for example i may be TOTALLY wrong but i guess the guy on the last video is homosexual due to his voice and posture, for him to accept the mere existence of the biblical God would be for him to accept he lives in sin. Thats my opinion on that.
i'm not saying i don't have respect for the guy, but when he lashed out (unneccesarily IMO), it just reflected upon his character.
