hi, im ming - living in london - in college @ da mo. I wana ask if any1 cld help me wit a presentation that i hav 2 do for next month - by 12/10/06. This includes my whole year - 12 - the first year or grade rather in college. The presentation i hav to do - is meant 2 b @ the most - 8 mins. When i successfully pass this, i would get 70 UCAS points - which i would need to include for my University Application Form and worth at least a A-B grade @ a-level (college level). I am lost for ideas, other than about campaigning about HIV/AIDs in some parts of Africa...n i am nt rely a confident speaker- epecially in front of people...so is there any1 willing to assist me on hw 2 approach presentations - cos i rely suck @ them =P
is this thats course called 'key skills communication'?? coz i did someting similar to this too ermm i think the idea you have is really good and broad as you can just pick a certain area and talk about it.. to overcome your fears about confidence i recommend you to practice your presentation lots, as people tend to most nervous and not confident becuase they dont actually know what to say becuase they havent been prepared. so if you prepare enough for it then you'll be full of confidence another way you could do is to use handouts as people will be less focused on you and be looking at your handout hope this helps
well thx 4 ur help - i prob would hand out small presentations (only 4 me class lol) - cos i rely cannot do in front of me whole yr + yr 13 in me college like me teachers =P...well i hav a whole month to prepare...i cld actualy do somethin else - related to saving children in poor countries...wells ill wd rely put in all the effort i cn 2 overcome me nervousness ^^

okay, for a good presentation.. you should find a way to get their attention. anything will work. even if you drop a textbook on the floor.. seriously. get your audience to pay attention. when you are speaking, avoid the 'umm..and blank air' .. try to view the whole audience from left to right. speak clearly and don't speak too quickly. try to pace yourself before you do your presentation. if you are using Powerpoint in your presentation, don't let the powerpoint be your presentation. explain thoroughly the material in your slideshow.
hmmmn talk about... Xfactor, pop idol, big brother, wife swap etc... new wave of reality tv thats sprung up over the past 5 years and where the entertainment industry is going. might be slightly more interesting than aids. or if you must do aids, make the talk very scary, scare people so much that they'll be so scared of having sex that your whole year will become a class of 40 year old virgins
u can always start off with a bit of humour to get people into it then on a serious note begin. Make a chart about what u are going to speak about kinda like an eassy get to point a to point b. Practice in front of the mirror or try to find videos of how other people approach for an idea booster. You dont have to talk about aids in africa, try asia or something different. Pretend ur a doctor saving lifes educating people about sex and aids! =)
dont stare at anyone in paticular, cause when u look at someone for a long time, its not good lol, cause if they talk, u wanna know what they are saying so it will put u off, just look up kinda thing
thx 4 all da help guyz ^^...jst nd 2 no wat 2 rely do...cos i only hav like 1-2 dayz left 2 present...avent rely started practiciin until nw...lol - cos its tken me a while 2 research all the articles n put up notes for me handouts..anywayz - ive printed like 40 handouts (20 x 2 diff ones) 4 me whole class..but ill make the best of da tym i hav left - so that i dnt fuk up n regret when i present
jst done me pres - like a few dayz ago...felt pretty natural...though i did stutter lol - but throat knda not good @ that time...hope i passed it ^^
