2007 26th Annual Hong Kong Film Awards This year's Hong Kong Film Awards showcased some of the biggest celebrities in the movie industry. The MC's for the awards ceremony were Nick Cheung Ka Fai, Tsang Bo Yee, and Lam Chi Chung. Special guest presenters included Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Carina Lau Ka Ling, Anita Yuen Wing Yee etc. Each year, the HKFA awards results in a fierce competition as to which actors would bring home the gold. But for actresses, it's an even fiercer battle on the red carpet as to who wore the best dress! DESPERATE FOR ATTENTION Nothing grabs the paparazzi's attention like cleavage. These actresses have it and flaunted it! Carina Lau's "transparent" Jean Paul Gaultier dress is very sensual, as it gives a hint of nudity. Perhaps Victoria's Secret (HK division) should sign Carina as their next regional spokesmodel? Fok Si Yin was sure competing with Carina Lau as the sexiest dressed. Although I do not like either dress, Fok really should save this lace and satin "evening gown" to wear on the night of her honeymoon. Not sure who the above actresses are, but the girl in the white dress is desperate for attention. There's the cleavage on top and the super short hemline! It worked and got the press' attention though! And there she is again, changing into a black bra and lacey dress afterwards! It looks like someone took a pink crayon and colored Stephy Tang's dress with it! Love her hair, but her dress would look better as a wall hanging at a modern art gallery though! Daring to be different, Lau Sam Yau's bold and beautiful Gucci dress is valued at approximately $70k (HKD). CLASSIC ELEGANCE Amy Kwok knew millions would be watching and believed in her heart that husband, Sean Lau, would bring home the gold. But Sean's greasy hair and unshaven beard leaves more to be desired. Charlene Choi looking very cute in this simple white dress. Nice drape in Shu Qi's dress. Isabella Leung's Valentino dress was valued at $330k (HKD) and her Montblanc jewelry cost $22 million (HKD). A truly stunning look; the best look of the night! BORING AS APPLE PIE There's nothing wrong with apple pie, but it doesn't stand out when there are more exciting options out there right? The actresses below look okay, but just a tad boring.... Lisa S. knew all eyes would be on the gorgeous Daniel Wu and quietly decided to wear a muted brown dress instead. Love the shimmery effect of MC Tsang Bo Yee's dress, but the cut of the dress is dowdy and makes her figure appear like a "tree trunk" (no hint of curves at all). THE REFINED GENTLEMEN "At your service, madam!" Handsome cruise captains Donnie Yen and Lian Hoi. Former TVB actress, See Ma Yin's son, Gouw Ian Iskandar (the little boy in the white jacket) won the Best Supporting Actor and Best Newcomer Awards for "After This Our Exile." He is a cute little boy! Ray Lui Leung Wai with his wife in matching shades of light green and gray. Great colors for spring, but Ray's mismatched jacket with plaid gray pants look like he's heading to a picnic and not a major awards ceremony. Ray must be one of the best looking 50 something actors out there. Wow such youthful, taunt skin! FASHION FLOPS Actors who lost out on the awards have a chance again next year. Will the below artists clean up their acts and sport better fashion sense next year too? From certain angles, Zhou Xun's outfit is quite cute, until you glimpse her right side and notice her "uncombed" hair. This is a classic illustration of no matter how beautiful the dress, if your hair doesn't match, the effect can be disasterous. It's bad hair, a bad dress and cheap jewelry, making it difficult to recognize Lam Ka Yan. Wong Hui Ming's features are perfect, but not perfect enough for you to overlook his tacky outfit. With the polka dot tie, striped red shirt and mismatched grey pants, there was too much happening in his outfit. Would have been nicer if he wore black pants and tossed his tie away. Does Eva Wong's dress look like a $20 dress you can get at any mall?! Why must men be so stubborn when it comes to dressing? If you're wearing a tux, leave the sneakers home! Straight from the sixties, did Teresa Mo forget this cut was hot, but decades ago?! Josie Ho was always a non-conformist. Good hair or bad hair? You be the judge! Miriam Yeung: "Shall we dance?" Are leftover childhood dreams of becoming a ballerina creeping into Miriam's fashion choice?
stephy's cute in that pinky crayon dress and congrats Lau Ching Wan, after so long he finally got the HK film award...
haha Eason... whats up with the shirt and tie... that pattern enduces seizures! some of the girls were hot!!!
LOVE the lacy see-through dress she has on! Human example of "trying too hard". The hemline is like... UGH. I LOVE that dress! But I think the dress will be better off if she have her hair up. ABSOLUTELY LOVE that dress. That's a pretty dress, but I think she would look better with a darker coloured dress, or tone down the lipstick =_=b Was it just me or his hair + suit combination resembles George Clooney?
aww thats cute stephy's dimples are showing -blush carina lau is known for her stunning dresses...she pulls it off very well even if it's a little too revealing...at her age to look like that ....it's incredible.
miriam looks really cute and i'm glad that Sean Lau finally won an award! He's been nominated so many times!
