Selling 1,333,969 copies of “Everyday, Kachuusha” in their first week, it’s no surprise that AKB48 would dominate on the United World Chart as well. The United World Chart ranks the most popular tracks according to “global paid downloads, single-sales and airplay”. In week 23 of 2011, AKB48 has come in at #1, above popular artists such as Pitbull, Adele, Jennifer Lopez and Bruno Mars. But it doesn’t stop there! “Everyday, Kachuusha” is also on one of the “top achievement charts” for “tracks with most points in a week (since 1999)”. This isn’t their first time on this chart though, as AKB48’s previous single – “Sakura no Ki ni Narou” – ranked at #3,right below Lady GaGa’s “Born This Way”. Source: United World Chart, Tokyohive
