The second round of interviews for the 39th Annual Miss Hong Kong Pageant was held. The candidates who were invited to come back for the second interview included: “Small-Chest Chrissie Chau,” Lau Ka Lai, “MK Ka Yan” Jasmine, “Pure Jolin Tsai” Chu Sun Lai, “Big-Belly Celine Ma” So Wai Yan, “Strange Chest Woman” and the 2010 First Runner-up Miss Chinese Sydney, Ho Cheuk Man. A candidate who was caught smoking at the first round of interviews was ousted from the second interview process. Since the applicants’ photos were revealed by the media, netizens have provided the background details of the women. Allegedly, 17-year-old Lau Ka Lai (劉家麗changed her name and may have received plastic surgery. At one point, Ka Lai had signed under Charles Chan’s Snazz Music Ltd. Netizens even claimed that Ka Lai had lied about her educational background, claiming that she did not graduate from Form 3. Ka Lai was interested in becoming an actress and after two months in Form 3, she dropped out of school. Allegedly the “Small-Chest Chrissie Chau” came from a wealthy background and her family lived in Celestial Heights, Ho Man Tin. After the second interview with TVB yesterday, Ka Lai took a taxi to the Ho Man Tin area. Other rumors claimed that Ka Lai was borrowed a friend’s Ho Man Tin address to register for the competition and that her family lived in Tuen Mun public housing. Due to application in the Miss Hong Kong Pageant, Ka Lai recently rented an apartment several hundred square feet in size. Allegedly Ka Lai’s contract with Snazz Music will not expire until November 2011. The press’ favorite candidates included “Pure Jolin Tsai” Chu Sun Lai (朱晨麗)who revealed her sexy side in a short black patterned dress, gray blazer, and black stockings to the second interview. Born in China, Sun Lai competed and lost in the 2006 Miss Asia online pageant. Studying ballet since she was a young girl, Sun Lai won aaward postgraduate scholarship to study ballet at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in the United States. Sun Lai had performed in the Hong Kong Ballet troupe. “MK Ka Yan” Jasmine [who appeared in a black dress]. Perhaps due to stress, impurities cropped up on Jasmine’s face. Allegedly, model Jasmine frequented nightclubs to meet men. Another press favorite was “Hong Kong Kelly Lin,” who wore a yellow dress at the second interview. Both her attire and features made her stand out among the other applicants. Dark horse candidates included “Strange Chest Woman” [who wore a dark blue floral dress]. Although her former “watermelon” cup size was now strangely a “basketball” size, the judges allowed “Strange Chest Woman” in the second interview. “Big Belly Celine Ma” So Wai Yan (蘇慧恩removed the sunglasses that she wore at the first round of interviews and appeared in a purple dress.
