Basic: situps, pushups, pull ups, leg lifts, dumbbells. Love jump roping. do some running up slopes or run up stairs, more impact. Going to the gym takes longer anyways, you know those places are dirty as hell.
What's your fitness level? You pretty active? Do you have any weight lifting benchmarks we could gauge you by?
80 push ups and sit-ups within 2 minutes is what i do everyday, and running 2 miles within 15 minutes every 2 days. ......not that i wanna do it, i just have to do it.
Just stay home and do other exercises if you really want to keep fit. I'm sure you can find some time to run outside too. I recently got the Vibram Five Fingers and I have been running barefoot outside on weekends. Feelsgooodman
Active? Not much. Bench @210. I am not the type that wanna bulk up .. looks ugly for a short guy like me .. only 5'81/2 .. if I lift too much heavy weigh .. probably gonna shrink to 5'5-5'6 as time goes by .. know what I mean? not to mention, i wanna maintain the flexibility and agility instead of having a rock hard body. Here's my current diet and routine .. Breakfast = milk, oatmeal Lunch = tofu, veggies Dinner = fresh juice 20 min = push up, sit-up, pull-up, and jump rope 30 min = yoga/boxing (alternate) 20 min = meditation @ Tony - can't run ... don't wanna hurt my knee .. getting old ...lol .. taking the easy route .. lol
i'm in the military. Just gotta keep fit and if i fail, it's gonna be a bad year for me....i could as well say goodbye to my promotion pts.
That's not bad. you seem pretty strong so I'd think it'd be hard for you to get a good workout with just pushups, situps, but I guess if you don't really care about getting stronger, just want to keep fit, that's probably good enough. One thing you could try doing is chair step ups. Just need a chair or box . Could add some variety to your routine. Also, kettlebells are really good for overall fitness but I doubt you want to buy one.
Well, strong is important but like I said, flexibility. I wanna be energized yet peaceful enough to think things through. I find that working out long do increase my alertness and all but react more on impulse (rote type) ..know what I mean .. like in martial art reaction? That's why I added meditation into my workout. I am 30 now (too old) so yoga kinda help me with balance and form before aging really starts to take its toll .. lol Kettlebells aren't as versatile as a medicine ball. I think the dumbbells work better or your idea of the ring training beat the idea of kettlebells. I prefer a more easy and not so dangerous exercise regimen now .. lol
If you have no interest in gym, get membership of any other cheap gym. I hope you will get the membership of the gym in cheap price.
lol .. nah .. 30 years old is when your body starts go out of shape and it's twice as hard to get back again.
If there is a park or track near your place, you can try running there. Also, I'm sure there are plenty of exercises you can do at home, such as crunches, push ups. I'm sure youtube has some @ home workout videos.
Yeah,I too agree with you but I think we can do plenty of exercises at home like cardio, push ups, chins, stretching exercise and even those exercises for strength and muscle gain... What do you people think, are you going to Gym?
I'm trying to mix Metabolic Resistance Training with weights. Check out the following site: http://www.military.com/military-fitness/workouts/discover-mma-metabolic-resistance-workout
okay .. where's the Alex dude .. his ring exercise is not working for me .. i am not gaining much result from working out at home for some reason .. don't feel the sweat or the energy i used to have at the gym. any idea?
ok so what are you doing on the rings right now? I can whip together a tough routine for you that'll make you sweat don't worry
the best exercise is a healthy lifestyle okay maybe a strict diet lol. but anyways i used to do cardio at the gym but i feel its much more refreshing and natural to do it outside so thats one. or go all out and do the ghetto workout: Maybe buy a heavy bag and be sure to wrap your wrists.
