Edison Chen is definitely back in the game with the release of Confusion, his first album in over three years. The bad boy of Hong Kong showbiz began his high-profile return to the pop scene with the new song Mr. Sandman, which was unveiled on his 30th birthday (Oct 7th, 2010). As an update of the 1950s American oldie by the Chordettes, Edison's comeback single is about the mythical figure that brings children good dreams, through which the fashion guru expresses that he is just like everybody else. Eager to redefine his professional image with his new music, Edison penned all the songs in Confusion, relating how he fell from grace in that controversial incident in early 2008, but in time has overcome the difficulties and emerged a stronger man. He certainly owed some of that to his friends, with Taiwan hip-hop star MC HotDog helping him with the Chinese lyrics, Sammi Cheng lending her presence to the Mr. Sandman remix, and Jay Chou composing the inspirational number I Can Fly for him. Unfortunately they were not available here otherwise it would be great, but this new album is not bad actually and worth listening to.....I like tracks Man In The Mirror , I Can Fly & Reboot the most.
i thought he said he'd 'retire'/step down from HK entertainment industry after the 'ah gil' incident??
yan and chef probably will be on the canto album...this is a manderin album. chef still works for edison but yan and hanjin no longer.
I can't believe so many people still say that but he never did say he'll quit...He said "indefinitely," and I guess a lot of people didn't understand that word. It did confuse a lot of people. So he was pretty much on break for the HK area. But he's back. Some good songs...
So unoriginal. Tunes, rhythm and lyrics copied from classical tunes and famous hip-hop artists such as Missy Elliot (Mr. Sandman) and Notorious BIG (Sky Blue Pink).
