The Most Anticipated TVB Series in 2011

This year's TVB Anniversary Awards 2010 ends with Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang crowned as TV King and Queen for their roles in No Regrets. Stepping into 2011, TVB already planned the 3 big productions including "Lau Sing" Wayne Lai's Big Eunuch (大太监), "Princess" Charmaine Sheh's breakthrough role as the 10 year old mentally challenged girl (Colorful World of Sister Fa) and the popular team Fun With Liza and Gods comedy series version. Now, which one of these big productions does viewers anticipate most? Wayne Lai's Qing Dynasty Eunuch? Charmaine's mentally challenged breakthrough? Or the comedic Fuk Luk Sau (FLS)? The results are based on a survey of audience.

TV King Wayne partners up with another good actress Michelle Yim for Big Eunuch. This time in the series, Wayne will be playing the powerful Big Eunuch of Chinese History, Lee Lin Ying with a Ying and Yang temper. As the great right hand man to Empress Dowager (played by Michelle Yim), Lee Lin Ying's life is a legend. "Wayne has never been an eunuch before, but remember one time he pretended to be Roman Tam and performed the song Persian, he was a little devilish. Not only that, this time this is definitely a challenge to his acting, so really anticipate to see how this TV King is as Lee Lin Ying!" A viewer felt that Wayne's acting is capable of being Lee Lin Ying's complicated life, should be pretty hyped because this is one of the most focused productions next year.

The second one is Colorful World of Sister Fa, which is also voted by audience to be one of the most anticipated 2011 TVB series based on the sales presentation. Charmaine Sheh and Raymond Lam lead this series about a mentally challenged girl. This year losing out on the TV Queen title, some people believed Charmaine's role as Lau Sam Ho in last year's Beyond The Realm of Conscience had no character and does not allow development on her acting. This year her Princess Chiu Yeung role in Can't Buy Me Love is the ancient version of "Chuk Kwan Ho" (Return of the Cuckoo) and was not a breakthrough either. For these reasons, it is reasonable that Charmaine lost the TV Queen title in the last two years. However, next year for Colorful World of Sister Fa, she plays a 10 year old mentally challenged girl, and should be a breakthrough. Indeed, many mentally challenged roles has won awards and got popular like Forest Gump and 1993's What's Eating Gilbert Grape. It's the 'mentally challenged roles, TV Queen is hot favorite', so Charmaine no longer needs to be the 'remainder girl' Princess and switches to be mentally challenged. Next year, Charmaine probably will be pushed to the front line: "I think Charmaine basically is a little girl herself, this time partnering up with Raymond Lam, I really anticipate her childish expressions as the 10 year old mentally challenged girl. Also Raymond has played the handsome boy for several years, this time he plays a young master who takes advantage of relationships to reach his goals. There should be a fresh new feeling."

The third series is Fuk Luk Sau.Com (福禄寿.com). This year FLS has been quite popular, 3 plus 1 as the intimation kings and even got their own concert in November. Wong Cho Lam continues to be a girl, Johnson Lee continues as the Pop King and Louis Yuen continues as the Lau Mik Suet, not afraid of old tactics, as long as it's accepted. Next year, FLS will start a pre-modern series version. The story is set in the 60s, Liza Wang is lacking investigators to help her and invited the FLS to investigate weird cases.
