Watching this season there is a few things that bothers me and how the show doesn't have that flare it used to have. 1) Host I already touched on this topic in another thread but will go in a bit further. Otto and Elvina are obviously not the right choice to begin with. Elvina I can sort of understand, she does do comedy series ad shows throughout her career. Otto, I have no idea where they pulled him off, EO2 kicked him out or what? I personally do think King Kong can do well, it the intros, I do find him funny, just that during the show, he doesn't talk much or do much, which makes him sort of 'useless' They should really try get Jerry Lam back IMO. 2) Guest They should really get guest that will do anything to get a laugh, no disrespect to the older celebs and what not, just that they don't really to much to contribute to the 'comedic' factor. 3) Games The games this season doesn't have too much variety, it pretty much revolves around popping balloons. The last thing I want to see is people running around and sitting on balloons. For the IQ questions one, bursting balloons isnt as funny as cream to the face. Furthermore, the questions are EXACTLY the same as last season. Newer games like the Sushi one or the yelling phrases one I quite like. That's all I have ATM, what do you guys think?
Most episodes have too many guests, they should have fewer guests or have a limit of 5 in a team so we can actually see each one of them participating in all games.
umm..think they should get rid of the balloon game cos it really is a waste of time..first time watching it yeh it was funny but it got boring etc... i like the number game with the drinks..lol they should keep that... but as for the games in general they should rotate an change it around an can incorporate some of the old season games rather than keeping the same routine....
Agreed bring Jerry Lam back The Balloon game has to go it's no good; it only funny when its fat/heavy people sitting on King Kong. I like the newest recent game in the beginning with someone asking the question the other person have try to answer the question wrong; Sushi not bad, and the guessing the number from 1-100 is okay.
Jerry is with ATV now so I doubt he'll be back? He's also constantly busy hosting Asian Millionstar. I agree with what most people said. Otto is pretty useless as a host. Alvina is not the greatest either, but still much better than Otto. King Kong is not bad, and he's funny. Surprisingly I actually prefer him to Wong Cho Lam and Louis Yuen from the previous season. For the games they really need to ditch the balloon games. They also have to look for games that don't end up being boring after a couple episodes. For example, some are pretty funny the first and second time around, but when you continue it eventually gets dull. It would also be nice if they went back down to 6-8 guests at the most. Although I'm guessing they added more guests since the star power is lacking. What this show really needs is bigger stars to take part IMO. I mean remember the earlier seasons when even celebs like Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok, Dodo, etc. joined in. When you have big stars join, even if the game sucks it can still be really funny. That or at least get guests that know how to be funny (without overdoing it). So basically quality over quantity, but I think it's hard for them to even get semi big stars to go on the show nowadays.
I'm pretty sure a lot of people want more popular guests, but it really depends on their availability (busy recording, busy filming?) and if they accept an invitation or not. Hell, I bet some stars even think Super Trio is boring and rejects the invitation immediately. A big factor is also the time spent in the studio.. didn't some people who witnessed Super Trio live say it takes about 3 to 4 hours to record? If true, that's a big chunk of time in some peoples schedules. Not to mention some stars who don't want to participate in certain games, in front of a live audience. Looking at this season, some guests like Lesley Chiang appeared a lot.. I guess to have fun and a good time. I like watching guests that make you laugh, but I am getting sick of some guests like Timmy Hung. Some people may like him for coming on the show to make a fool out of himself, but it's just too much now.
it will be hard to get Jerry to come back to host since he's with another company...maybe after his contract ends.
totally agreed on bring back Jerry Lam. or people like last year Wong Cho Lam and Louis Yuen they were well funny. do think they need to get more different guests going on the show it actually getting quite boring when the same lot of ppl going on show again. there is times they are too many guests on all at once especially when the show isnt that long. if the show was longer it would ok but when the show is that short having too many guests mean less things to watch
YEP...i totally agree with you....ditch the balloon game, especially the multiple choice questioning game...it's a waste of time and not funny at all. They need to bring back the sushi game and guessing word game...-sweat-madsign1
I agree with you on the host, aside from eric tsang and chin ka lok, I mostly don't notice the other hosts during the show, but I can't really think of any funny people that aren't busy(wong tzi wa, ronal cheng etc) Also the guest, I remember seeing guest coming back in the same season(toby leung appeared like thrice?) And not many super big stars are appearing on it anymore.
