Lately I have been getting headaches, randomly...

    I don't know why I have it..
I always blow dry my hair now and not leave it drip dry, therefore I don't go out with wet hair.
Could it be that I am light sensitive, especially at night when the lights are on?
Quite a lot of the times I get headaches as I wake up.

Anybody got a good cure apart from pain killers?

    Headaches from dehydration is common

When you start feeling thirsty, it means that you're already dehydrated.

The electrolytes in the Gatorade will help rehydrate you faster.

hahaaa like i said, i have been blow drying my hair! lol Wales is too damn cold for my head to go outside lol!
i always try the accupuncture massage on the head but it never works, makes things worse...

it might be me dehydrating coz admittingly i dont really dirnk enough liquid throughout the day but my eyes are always painful tho so that shouldn't be to do with dehydration right?
coz i dont always face the laptop or tv... more like work and work lol

Your eyes are also painful? Maybe you've strain your eyes too much? Seems like lights ON at night also hurts your eyes?

    1) Take enuf brakes (don't stare hours at one point or at your PC monitor like me =P)
    2) Adjust your monitor contrast, lights and color at a moderate level (usually lowers them)
    3) Put enuf lights sources in your room/work area. One tiny light bulb is really a no go
    4) Or in the opposite dim harsh lighting and bright colors (can be either room/work area/things your wearing)
    5) Keep your eyes dehydrated. Don't use eye drops, but artificial tears..
    6) Beep your BF and let him massage your head and neck (increase blood flow which helps relief neck~, eye strain and headache)
    7) Follow these tips to prevent further eye strain LINK LINK 2

Also wise to do a checkup on your eyes? (Perhaps it's time to buy a pair of glasses =O that is in the worse case =S)

yeah my eyes do strain.. last night was the worse tho, i went to my bedroom which was dark but it was still painful!! dunno why tho :S
wouldn't it be useful to keep eyes hydrated to relief the pain?

i am wearing glasses lol and had them checked up in the summer, tbh i think i have 老花 at just 20? because one of my eye is decreasing and when i look onto the projecting screen at uni, some of them r very enlarged and they r fussy at times which i have to squint? meh.... it's either that or i have long sight as well :S

Meh you've to squint your eyes and strain even more =O? OMG! Stop that! LOL

I think either the last checkup went wrong and you got the wrong pair of glasses? =S Or you sit too far away from the projecting screen =P Also sitting in the right angle is a must to prevent (screen) glare!

TIP: Peek at your classmate textbook next to you =P Or copy their pages at the end of the class!

Yes dehydrating your eyes are good, best is artificial tears! And maybe splash your face with cold water a few times during the day will also help a bit. And get more sleep or just close your eyes for 5 minutes and let them rest..

PS. Perhaps you've far and close sight =O A re-checkup is strongly advised!

I should check up but then it means i have to pay coz i'm not under 18 anymore :'(
Might try Boots Optician or Vision Express with their reputation.. this time, altho been there once, Specsavers and Hk is where I do it the most tbh...
You could be try that I might be sitting to far from the screen but sometimes when i sit a "little" bit closer, same effect...

Can't wait for my laser eye surgery!!

I got a hangover from drinking too much milk tea yesterday during my hotpot all you can eat and drink...still have a minor headache.

It could be the weather, all that rain in UK might give some people headaches...

Meh..sitting far and close still the same prob; means something not right with your vision (cylinder?). And having eye- and headaches quite some time o_O Err..

Just don't wait too long with the re-checkup. Your eyes should have first priority!

In the time being, just sprinkle your eyes all the time, get more sleep or rest(breaks), and NO more squinting there ;)
Every kind of tea, esp a lot of them, can dehydrate a body --> drink lots of (mineral)water to compensate!

And even more if your in a very crowded area (with no airco) during couple hours --> get some fresh air outside, even if it's raining =P

Yes all this can also causes headaches.

  18. bbgirlsum

    bbgirlsum Well-Known Member

i would have thought that tea is water based so it wont really dehydrate you?
i was wrong... :( must drink pure water not squash xD

  19. Eat properly, not high sugar all the time
sleep at least 8 hours a day.. i guess you should sleep 9 - 10 hours
if your not wearing glasses yet, the time may be approaching, or you may need thicker lenses. (book an appointment at specsavers :p)
take a break from the work now and then
have at least 1ltr of water each day, imo juice (pure) is better than water.
    turn down the contrast
sleeeeeeeeeeeep eaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat (these are the only 2 that can cause a headache for me if neglected)

In the case you don't know G gorgor I do wear glasses but checked up in the summer,
biut may go to Boots or Vision Express coz Specsavers SUCKS!

I sleep between 6 - 10 hours depends what time I sleep at and how crap the sleep was, worse it is the earlier I wake up which I seem to get lately :(

Pure juice? More expensive.. Tap water I end up going for sometimes squash.
