imo if its so hot that you need to go out with an umbrella then stay indoors thats for uk, in hk its different.
My sister likes carrying an umbrella when its really sunny lol. I on the other hand just slap on some sunscreen with a high SPF. Getting burnt by the sun is really bad for the skin.
I do it all the time when its sunny and I know am going to be in the sun alot. Even with sun cream (that stupid spf 50+) i still burn and it hurts so it comes in handy and as far as am concern i dont really care much if people stare, at the end of the day am nice and cool and not sun burnt.
To the westerners, they love the sun so much that they will sunbathe in the park until they a like a roast pig! so yeah, to them, it will seems a bit weird that you hold an umbrella to block out the sun. I dont find it weird since I am used to seeing it. I wouldnt use an umbrella myself when its sunny though, but then again, I dont like holding an umbrella even when it rains!
In China the sun had shined everyday. It was really hot that my cousins and me have to take everytime a umbrella with us but sometimes we want to tan ourselves.^^
The sun is devastating, but it's good to have some exposure. The UV can heal and kill things, let alone give ur body some 'vitamin d'. Too much is not good of course, especially if u have senstive skin. if ur like lohan, u probably tan and turn into a lobster. if ur chinese, and japanese fob, u might turn like a cherry too ! but i dont think holding it is anything good, unless ur either a RACE QUEEN for japaneese s1 or ur a 70 year old lady. HAHAHA if ur 20-30 and doing it, ur skin better look like sk2 max factor !
I was just in China last month, and most people there (including males) carry umbrellas in the sun. It's smart, but I will still feel funny carrying an umbrella in the sun in North America.
usually gals will take umbrella during sunny day...bt its not wrong to use an umbrella when its sunny.....
It's really common in Asia to hold an umbrella. The heat from the sun plus the humidity makes it necessary to hold an umbrella. Caucasians love the sun and don't really care much about the sun being bad for their skin. They all love to have a tan skin. Besides I was told by a doctor that Caucasians do not develop sun damage pigments somehow, whereas Asian skin tend to get it. And these pigments do not show up while one is still young, but can appear as one grows older, like in the 40s. That's why using a sunblock is really important.
no offense but it is indeed strange to see people carrying it during a sunny day, but its not nice to say it out loud./..............................
