Well, you have to remember that she's playing a part; if there's blame, point the finger at the story writers for portraying here character as such a high strung and unreasonable woman. I would have preferred if they did more clandestine or secret martial arts with her -pirate

Instead, she's just a nag in this. I'm sure that she (the real person and actress) realizes that she (the character portrayed) is a lousy two dimensional and unimaginative nagging housewife, and she's probably even more pissed at having to play it, than we having to watch it. -unsure

yeah an actor/actress has to take any role that's given to them most of the times, especially when they're new or need acting experience even to gain more chances in the industry, they just have to go with it

I don't agree, this type of role has been played before, i don't remember any other actress putting me off so badly, after the first ep, the series isn't bad, a bit long winded at times but a laugh here and there makes up for it, Kate just overacts and makes it a lot worse, miscast for sure.

People also have to remember that there's a director who controls the scene. Individual actors may add panache, but if a scene doesn't present itself with what the director wants, it's not going into the can. Bottom line? Kate is annoying because the director either wants it, allows it, or doesn't care one way or the other. Directors can bring out the best or the worst in players. <_<

eh. well i personally think her character is SOMEWHAT annoying. but not 100% annoying. she just overreacts a lot. -__-' and why? because she loves and cares for her husband. so yeah.
i feel bad for kenneth's character sometimes. always getting yelled at and injured.

Kate is just shouting most of her lines, i don't call that acting and i can't see any good director telling her to do so, she just awful in this, better at quiet roles.

The thing is, if she was bad in every role that she plays, then I would agree that she's a lousy actress. However, she was really good in many other stories. Hence, I tend to think that if a good player is really bad in something, it has a lot to do with the direction. Some clown director may be telling her: "I want you to scream all the time..." :wtf:

Is it me or does she almost always reveal skin in a series? Not complaining, just seeing if anyone else notices.

i believe that sometimes the director might no have a choice, if the executives want to put someone is a series then they are going to be in the series whether the director thinks that they can act or not, and then they are forced to work with what they have, in kate's case. its not a whole lot. and if the actor is arrogant enough to think that they have great acting, they might not listen if the director tells them that there is a problem, so saying that its the directors fault might not be completely true sometimes.
