After a lengthy legal tussle with the record company, the Hong Kong-based pop rock duo Soler is back with Canto, the first fully Cantonese album from the twin brothers of Italian-Burmese descent. In fact, there's more to the title of this long-awaited album than merely a hint of the songs' language, as the word "canto" actually means "singing" in Italian, which is something the Macau-born musicians excel at. All 11 songs of Canto are composed by Soler, including "Why" (Soler's Free to Rock concert theme song), "Dope Queen" (written by Wyman Wong, rumored to be inspired by Amy Winehouse), and "Season of the Wind" (Soler's remake of the classic Paula Tsui ballad). Closing the album is a live track called "Him", which is Soler's tribute to Hong Kong rock legend Wong Ka Kui, the late front man of Beyond.
