http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/nab/what-happened-to-the-dinosaurs apparently the T-rex was a herbivore prior to adam and eve eating the apple of sin. :wackit: FUUUUUUUUUUU- the world is not 6000 years old. Anyone who has read a basic science textbook will be able to give you a hundred arguments for a million year timeline for this planet's existence. From elemental half-lifes to geological formation, hell... the oldest human remains found in ethiopa were determined to be over sixty thousand years old. >.< What i have often wondered is how Genesis would explain the existence of Neanderthals.
You seem pretty worked up there, calm down or you'll get an ulcer. i used to think the fruit was an apple too, not sure why we say that though i don't use that site i do believe it is very good considering it is not a Christians job to attempt to explain Neanderthals but rather the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As for the age of the earth, i personally wasnt around back then, im only 25 so i dont know, the bible mentions when God started to form the earth but it doesnt say when God created the earth itself, but for most of us, that is unimportant, what is important is Jesus.
What is important, is learning the history of mankind. I argue that the Bible does not provide knowledge on the historical aspect of the past. To simply say that "that's that, leave it be, take it or leave it" is not enough. By learning the roots of the knowledge, we can learn more. By studying the cultures and civilization of mankind prior to the alleged existence of Jesus, we learn more about ourselves and how man used to live back in the days. We learn of their survival, we learn of their way of life. I'd like to see Jesus teach us history. Granted Jesus' teachings are important, as are teachings of other highly important individuals in history, the teachings do not provide knowledge on culture, civilization etc.
The problem here is that while God may be all knowing, Christians are not. When they try to explain universal 'truths' in support of what they perceive as their faith's tenets, they are usually worth a very good laugh because they generally say really stupid shit. Faith in a deity is great. Organized religion on the other hand, has killed more people on this planet than anything else and should be outlawed. -detect Of course. However those that fully rely on the bible should also look at this, as it might give you cause to wonder: http://www.nobeliefs.com/DarkBible/darkbible2.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Sea_Scrolls
