man.. when i watched charmaine be forced to get married, it reminded me so much of her in "word twisters adventure" where she was in love with one guy but had to marry another that she didn't like.

    So sad..

I can't remember any of the series you guys mentioned above, but the forced marriage business is rather cliche, don't you think?

Ha... the best one was (I forget which series, but it was an older one) where a young guy falls in love with a girl, but his father is a real mean bastard. The father, knowing well that his own son is in love with her, arranges it so that he (the father himself) secretly marries the girl instead. He did this just to show his son up. After getting hastily married with the girl, he suddenly parades her in front of him, telling him to pay his respects and say hello to his new "third mother," all the while snickering at his son. -bigsmiles
Now that's what you really call fucked up...-noclue

well charmaine never seems to have much luck when it comes to love in her ancient/period dramas..half the time her other half dies just before or just after they get married..or she's too poor to marry the one she really likes..actually her husband died on the day in forensic heroes 2..ah..guess its not just ancient dramas..

lol, pretty much all marriages were forced back then , some were like "arranged marriages" where they had only seen the other person for a couple times or "none at all "

I was going to say Silver Chamber of Sorrows but then I remembered Paul was the brother not the father lol. He forced Christine to marry him knowing his younger brother loved her.. I really wonder what drama you are talking about though

So for that, you GROANED at my post, and ruined my no groan record? Sheesh... <_<

I don't remember entirely what series that was from, but IIRC, I think Hester Hseun was the female character that was the object of attention by the dad and son. The dad part was played by one of the perpetual TVB bad guy characters, and the son was a TVB low level regular male lead (the same guy that played an emperor that was transported to modern times, bringing a female antagonist along with him).

LOL... For a moment there I couldn't figure out what you were groaning at... I was thinking that you must have really hated the storyline or something of that nature. So I was thinking, "well blame TVB and their lousy writers..." -bowroflarms

At any rate, Thank you for removing it. I guess I'll just have to earn a real groan eventually. :ohnoes:
