I have applied for architecture at 5 different universities. (sent it last monday)
and so far, one has replied *which is good news-ish*
i'm not fully in yet .. i can still be rejected for sure...

but they have a portfolio request. in other words.. 10 pieces of art- one of which has to be an art interpretation of your street and 200 words about it. lolz... dunno what media i will do that in.. but i'll think about it v.soon.

    ok..
so with the other nine sheets.. im kinda struggling to think of what to do. (all with different media- pencil, ink, water colour, acrylic, model making, fabric etc..to show like.. ur suitable skills for architecture). and these art pieces don't have to be on architecture at all? ... i recently bought a chinese ink block- which will come at good arty use :D

    so.. i have.
    1. the one they want me to do- my own street.
    2. self portrait?
    3. one of my A level pieces on "water" lolz.
    4. maybe something to do with negative space....
    5. a photoshop piece?

please help think of some good ideas to draw/paint/whatever media for my portfolio for uni. it will be greatly appreciated ^___^"

    thanks

Do you have to draw to scale and with grid paper?Maybe some chinese traditional designs mixed with modern designs. Ultraman?
    architects makes heaps of money.

ultraman lolz :) ermm.. not really.. it's a portfolio to show your drawing artistic ability?? i'm kinda just a bit stuck with what to draw.. like ive picked some work that ive done in school... with different media.. but i dunno if i should do something ..rly random.. like..draw..ANYTHING.. i just have to show like yeh, different use of media... my own "original" self with it :S lolz...(doesnt have to be any computer aided stuff)

architects don't rly make that much money..most are quite low paid.. only until you become some head boss of a few architects, the you design stuff and make those who are under you do a lot of the editting and computer work for you haha... (yes, ive seen this in 2 architects work placements i went to haha)

there's a few ways they go about these things... sometimes they are after some kind of creative aptitude rather already honed technical skills, after all you can't teach somebody to be creative if they absolute aren't creative to begin with ;)

    anyways, good luck! :)
