HK (Cantonese) live streaming

Here are some options to stream HK channels live. Keep in mind that these things can stop transmitting from one day to the other, so enjoy while it lasts.

Software Media Players

Option 1:
Here are the steps for SopCast (P2PTV software):
1. Download SopCast: http://www.sopcast.com/download/
2. Obvioulsy install and run it.
3. Paste one of the following links into the "Address" field:

Option 2: *** Only ATV, ATV HD and ATV World ***
Here are the steps for BETV (P2PTV software):
1. Download BETV: http://en.ibetv.com/
2. Create an account at http://en.ibetv.com (click on "Register" next to the Login button).
3. Install and run BETV.
4. Navigate to the section shown in the screen capture below to view HK channels. Use the BETV account to login when asked.


Option 3:
Here are the steps for PPStream (P2PTV software):
1. Download PPStreamt: http://download.ppstream.com/ppstreamsetup.exe
2. Install it.
3. Create a Windows Shortcut containing the following URL and run the shortcur, or enter the URL in your web browser and allow it to run PPStream:

when you say quality isn't excellent, do you mean it lags a lot??
because i'm lagging so much that i don't even have the patience for it.

Umm, no I meant the picture quality. I did notice some choppy video playback from time to time, but that's more like an exception to the rule.

Maybe in Holland we are more lucky

That's correct, they are closed between 5am and 6am or so. You should see the picture below though. Otherwise check the FAQ tab:

If all channels have this problem, please upgrade your Windows Media Player, or use VLC player instead. If only some channels had this problem, then mainly it is because the channel source had problems.

These are only good if ur internet speed & bandwidth are super fast in ur country. Otherwise the frequent buffering may drive you nuts.

 

Yes that's true, and even with a high speed Internet there is no guarantee since you might be too far away from the source. Oh well, not everybody can be lucky.

how does bandwidth on this work?? im curious...if i watch like 4 hrs..cause there bandwidth limit in canada..so bs

 

The stream is 430Kbps, so assuming that it's actually consuming that amount in real time, then it's about 200MB per hour.

Currently it's consuming 0Kbps though, it's kind of dead. Which one of you broke it ? ... just kidding Hopefully it will come back.
