Hi! I have fat calves - my thighs and calves are almost the same size. I would love to wear more skirts and dresses, but with fat calves the look doesn't work! How can I minimize the size of my calves? Does anyone know some good exercises? Thanks!
Rarely, excessively large calves (hypertrophy of calf muscle) may be a sign of one form of muscular distrophy (Duchenne's); if you have any signs of weakness, see your doctor immediately. On the other hand, Asian women, especially Japanese and Koreans, are well known to have disproportionately plump or large calves, which many fear seem unsightly when compared to those of other women. If exercise fails to achieve the degree of slimness desired, then liposuction, or subtotal resection (cutting out a portion thereof) of the gastrocnemius (calf muscle) may be required.
^ NAH....RALPH'S UBBBBBBBER KNOWLEDGEABLE (I THINK)...-unsure I WAS TOLD IF YOU DO MORE EXERCISE/RUNNING YOU BUILD MORE MUSCLE...SO IF YOU TELL HER TO GO TO GYM AND STUFF WOULDNT HER CALVES GET BIGGER...?!..
i'm no doctor, but if girls wanna slim down on any part of their body, they just need to have more sex! ok... seriously, sex does kinda work, but newayz... BB nailed it... it's unfortunate, but if u walk a lot like in most asian countries, ur calves will be larger than u'd like... ur only real defense against this is to minimize the size, which unfortunately means u gotta keep ur fat percentage low, aka go on a diet... and being tall might help too =/ i'm curious how thick ur calves are if they're almost the size of ur thighs ... it doesn't sound healthy
okay.. so if running ans exercising makes your calves bigger... then why do all the hard core runners have hella skinny calves??????
cuz all the hardcore runners have like 5% bodyfat... and because they run like 20miles a day so they're burning a bajillion calories, which comes out of muscle as well... aka muscle atrophy...
um....also, when u buying dresses an skirts.... dont go for the tight ones etc cos they'll only make your calves more noticeable... =/
well .. first you gotta know whether your calve muscle are tighten; hard and chunky cuz that can mean you don't stretch enough before and after exercise ... if you're in that situation, see an acupunturist cuz it helps you loosen up a lot and then you can tone it down very easily. my calves were hard and bulky before too and after a while, it kinda sore as well .. build up after long exercises so i went to an acupunturist for help .. now it's firm and tone rather than bulky like so yeah ..
i didn't know it was you who was seeking help unless your talking on behalf of another person? my advice for you is to... ride a bike i suppose and tip toe too
actually its not in your head. thats why heels were designed. to make show off/enhance girls legs they actually do look better. The more you wear heels the more defined your calves become.
