Recently ive been trying to convert multiple AVI files into DVD format. Usually it works perfectly but recently the DVD files comes out with no sounds. I re-installed WinAVI ver. 8.0, Real Player 10.0, and DVD Shrink but no luck.

    Question is
1: Why would it suddenly go whack >.<, it used to work and now it doesnt?
2: How can I fix it
    3. Why does vista suck, used it and DVD files always jumps in the last chapter

    4. :wackit: gotta love this icon :whistling:

    1. What do you mean by it goes wack?
    2. Why do people think that others can automatically pick up on their problems by simply saying "it doesn't work anymore"?
    3. Are they stupid or something?

  5. ^ find the crack using torrents -shrug but for single movies i use Avi2DVD because it can easily add subtitles.. =D

i do use window media player classic, but if im not wrong, i think WinAVI is based off of Real Players. And its compatible with ver. 10 and below. I mean i have two PCs, both uses WinAVI. The one with Vista sucks cuz all the DVDs i make ends up jumping at the last episode i put in. The XP one used to work perfectly until i stopped using it for 2 months during my vacation. Somehow i think Vista and WinAVI dont work well with each other =\

when you say it skips near the end of the dvd, is that when you played in on a standalone dvd player? if so, it is mostly the discs you are using NOT related toe WinAVI...

not a good converter? i have used it since verion 6.8 and it has worked fine, does DVD Flick come with dvd menu? how long does the software take to convert 5x 800MB file? it takes me 28mins on Q6600 with WinAVI8

It is fairly rare for free video converters to be any better then the ones are bought. WinAVI is probably by far one of the fastest converters and considering its speed the quality is excellent. I still prefer VSO over it though :p.

yeh apparently im still experimenting around with the XP and Vista on WinAVI, hopefully i can find the problem ^_^, but with you guys helping i can probably find the problem soon i hope

but yeh WinAVI is very fast whereas DVD Flick takes 2 hrs for me once...so im still iffy about the program right now, i made two DVDs so far and one plays fine and the other skips even worst than my WInAVI DVDs :p

try different media, verbatim is by far the best quality discs in the world...

and try disabling any CPU usage apps when running video converter software, like BT'n overall, or BT'n on the same hard drive where the video being compressed from

reason why it would flicker can be the disc as well as the dvd player itself, i have experienced the same brand/batch discs burnt, some would play perfectly and some would skip near the end of the discs...

  13. how many episodes could u fit into a dvd with winavi?

well i do use verbatim and phillips as my source of DVDs, and i shut off everything when converting and burning so that shouldnt be a problem

    but thanks for helping though

anyways, i also have additional info. It might not be the way you burn or convert or w/e...it could be the DVD player. apparently i put my DVD player in my room to the living room and it works fine. My guess is Toshiba (the player that trickers and jumps like crazy) sucks at playing my converted DVDs whereas RCA and Sony plays them really well...or probably my toshiba is about to die :p

and to answer the guy two post above me, i fit 4 episodes and 3 episodes in one DVD depending on the size, but if you use double layer you can fit more. OR you can actually shrink the quality down a bit so you can fit more (never tried it)
