Hi everyone, most of my chinese mp3 files have weird characters that looks like this ˭˵²»¿ÉÒÔ. Is there a way to fix it where chinese characters would show up instead. I've already installed the East Asian Language package in windows xp, so that's not the problem. Can anyone help? Thanks!
lol, yer that happens to me as well, and when i put music on my MP3, lol its annoying . but iguess u have to Rename Manually
lol, i just hate it coz my mp3, some of the song and stuff it can read, some it cant, lol very annoying :(
^ lol. How can it read some Chinese and not? Or it can't read traditional and only read simplified? To the OP, you need to manually "re-tag" the songs.. using a decent program. iTunes works (but I hate it) winamp, mediamonkey, or something like that. If you have a large collection.. well I guess have fun finding the tracklist and naming all the tracks, but if you do want to fix your song names up I think it is the only way.
lol, it just cant read some, lol, even when i take the error songs, and put it on again, and redo the tags, it does work, lol
lol, i dunno, but maybe its just my mp3, but then again, it also happens on Ipod, it shows up some random stuff, lol , maybe i need to get a "fully Honkie Mp3 from hk then "
I think I found a way, goto Control Panel, then Regional and Language Options, then Advanced, and under Language for non-Unicode programs, I selected Chinese [Hong Kong S.A.R.] and after restarting your comp, if fixes the problem for winamp and itunes. For itunes, you'll have to double click on the song before the new changes will show. I can't read chinese, so I'm not sure if the characters that shows up are making sense. Can anyone check?
I didn't know there was different encoding for chinese-I thought it was the same. Thanks for that Anyways, I don't have any of these funny characters on my iPod; If I do, I just re-tag them in MediaMonkey before transferring them over.
i choose tw =D only cos its always in traditional chinese lol but then recently i've turned it off it screws up all my data thats normal at times... only cos i'm dealing with work data that contains all these stupid non-standard characters as delimiters =/
I use NJstar communicator it works for simplified and traditional but u have to run it wen u want to see the actual characters or u can leave it on all the time i downloaded it free a while ago only prob is it was a trial and after its past its 30 days u have to wait a second for everyday after but its just a box in the way, the program doesn't wait for however many seconds before it translates it
i modified my computer with the steps from keithtran12, but i still get those weird characters from the PA radio.
my itune playlist doesnt show chinese characters, but only shows blocks, but when i put them on my ipod i can see those chinese characters
