hmm its supposed too let you connect directly to the TV (not HDMI) and stream mediafiles (RMVB+MKV and almost all standards mediaformats)....either intern (if you bought the extra add-on/feature) from your SATA HDD 120GB or either extern (thru the USB-host)

    no more converting stuff..close-up:

anonymous first post has post an url..its not far from you :giggle: shenzhen china o,O

dunno bout the costs tho, every country is diff.. most things in US is super cheap..but this site (Holland) here:
    with out HDD cost around 130 / 103 GBP / 184 USD / 1436 HKD
    http://www.bizz-asia.com/?page=shop/flypage&product_id=15

    with 120GB SATA HDD cost around 190 EUR/ 150 GBP / 269 USD / 2099 HKD
    http://www.bizz-asia.com/?page=shop/flypage&product_id=16

    just an indication ^

evo your from HK? i always thought from US o,O

these things are soo annoying to use, i used to use a similiar one for my tv in my bedroom. you keep having to unplug it and putting on computer then waiting for it to transfer then going back and putting it into the tv, also wen u buy it check the interface to see if its anygood cause thats the most important thing other than the files it supports
stoped using these hdd media drives and jus gt a long hdmi-dvi cable and a windows remote control

errhm...i think most ppl buy this with the intention too easy share stuff with fam/frenz and no longer has too convert stuff or burn DVDs....yes some of us still do that! XD

like you, im also watching series on TV, and yes its connected with the PC, arent you all? but still wants too buy this, preferred one for each fam/frenz, around 3~5 of them, so i can rotate each/couple month..

also this is a smaller version, 2.5" case, i think you got the big one 3.5", thats not really handy for on-the-go o,O and the old one still needs too convert mkv+rmvb XD

:jump: cant wait too surprise my grandparents..since theyve no knowledge of PC and even DVD's o,O

also..if you find its an burden too plug/unplug it, you can always buy the mediaplayer w/o the internal memory..theres an fast USB-host, which allows you too plug in any external HD :b

and whuts with the interface? my mom got one mediaplayer, couple months old..3.5" case, the menu looks crap..i dont understand a thing..BUT she can  she even showed me how too use it and browse too other directories w/rem.control..smarter than me haha..so i dont think interface is one big issue in this case..

ps. its must be a very first model what you got o,O sounds like a nasty & expensive experience..

lol nt a nasty experience, its jus not convinient for me i guess
i gt mine for £30 odd pounds,
i had mine 1/2 years ago mind you lol
imo i think the interfce should look nice and is quick, but i havent used any other so maybe the ones ur lookin at is quick and nice
if ur watching whole series on ur tv then yeh these things are pretty good i guess

your probably better off buy one of these things http://www.dlink.com/products/resource.asp?pid=438&rid=1631&sec=1 that can just strem the media from pc to tv instead of doing the transfering back and forth.

i have an older version and they work perfectly no problems and streams the high def video files without an issue.

    drawback to this...no rmvb support

plug and unplugging wont be a issue. this is mainly for my grandparents and i normally copy like 5 series or so at once so they wont need to unplug so often.

the Wireless HD Media Player would be just too much trouble for them. nice and all but still main think no RMVB support.

lol aight, must say you got a pretty deal, such a waste not using it..ooh well you can send it over here..i can always use them hehe -hellothar
its not for me, its for others, but if its for myself, i would, just like tonkachi suggested, also go for the wireless media player either with or w/o LAN support, USB-host, internal mem..depends a bit..but now thinking of it..already got something lying here, CH3WNAS500, gathering lots of dust now..since havent put up an LAN or WLAN yet o,O no time and still deciding too which ISP should change too..(also doesnt support RMVB+MKV) -,-
got one! but think main reason ppl would buy this is for fam n frenz, if its for OURselves, just like you said, go for an WLAN mediaplayer w/HDD and w/RMVB+MKV support ;) but ar, this one also streams about everything and also no need too transfer things, just plugin your external HDD
couldnt agree more...ehum, in my case 5 series is really not enuf for my fam n frenz o,O they consume it within a week :O

i will check it out tomorrow. i don't think they would have it tho. i would like that Wireless HD Media Player but no RMVB support = useless, no TVB series. also my grandparents live in a different house so they cant steam from my house(40mins drive apart).
