If this technology is commercialized, this will be the end of the Middle East and their black gold -devil http://www.reuters.com/news/video?videoId=84561
I believe I read that the generator alone cost $18k.... and only makes 300W so a while before its commercialised, but this sounds promising, better than filling up with hydrogen
lol. That's just Melbourne. We can forget about them. Its still a long shot from mass distribution, but its a start..
Yeah, it is way better than sitting on a hydrogen bomb. Since it is raining a lot in the UK, ya can fill up while yar riding -rotfl The Saudis on the other hand, needs to put some other fluid in the car :naughty:
whats the other fliud? O_O but Mav is right....it rains most of the time in UK so yay free 'petrol' lool...xD
not really, no wheres run out or rationing but its still god dam expensive, petrols been at £1.20 even before the strike -noclue I need to head back to uni where its like £1.18 heard from someone saying petrol is gonna be over £2 a litre soon......
thats expensive....the strike's affectin my area ><" but luckily the tank is all filled up...but crazy prices like....the highest i've seen is like 1.20 and the lowest is like 1.15 unfortunately that petrol station is locking all the pumps....
Well, the Saudi folk are digging their own grave if they keep the price high. Since the higher the oil price per barrel, the more attractive other alternative fuels get. At a certain oil pirce level, even sun and wind energy is a feasible solution. If water is the next energy source who drives this world as we know it. It will be a lot cleaner and the Saudis will be a lot poorer ...
thing is right now, its too expensive to transition to another alternative fuel, so the prices will continue to rise and its not just the oil producers who are making the price grow: -people who keep speculating that oil is running out is driving the price up -people who are scaremongering about no oil is driving up prices -possible war (god they thinking of Iran next) is driving prices up -actual demand from countries such as China and India -and last but not least the tax man about 60%+ of our fuel price is tax..... man £1.15 was like a month ago for me... im waiting for the strike to be over before i fill my car up, i have just less than half a tank which should get me to the places i want to go
Our current economy is running on oil. But if we can transition to another alternative fuel. The above mentioned becomes obsolete. If you thinking about the problem of not having a distribution network. This doesn't apply to water, since it is already there
^problem is no alternative fuel is economically viable to the mass public currently bio-fuels take up too much land for the whole world to use, solar is a joke with current panels, fuels cells are good but they are too expensive and we lack hydrogen distribution like you said, the water fuel cell is just way too expensive and lacks power atm i think give it a few more decades and we will be able to transition when new technologies mature and oil becomes way too expensive
it's a good technology since lots of people are complaining about global warming and such. But i doubt that it can go fast..
