as title says. I need abit of advice on choosing my next mp3 player. basiiiccaalllyy... i want... 1. 30gb or more... prefer 80gbs like zune/ipods 2. ASIAN TEXT SUPPORT! - very very important.. sis brought a sansa that doesn't support it and is currently choosing songs by looking at boxes...... so any ideas? I REALLY like the 80gb zune but heard they don't support asian text so... need another choice..
yea.. but the whole iTunes thing just throws me off... Currently very used to WMP and really don't like to change. Is there any other solution?
touch is kinda expansive... was looking at it but not the best bang for the buck you know? i'm gonna say my budget is around $250-300 bucks...
He said 30GB, so unless you get the 32GB iTouch which costs like 6 billion dollars. My advice will be 80GB iPod, very value for money
I just googled and found that there is a hack possible for Zune to run East Asian Characters. http://www.zune-online.com/news/zune/software-only-asian-languages-hack.html Not sure about the hack, so you should read more about it to see if it is stable. They don't have any HDD players on the market (apart from the Zen Vision M which you may find refurbished one's on EBay) and the only 30 GB + model is the Creative ZEN 32 GB which is expensive as it is flash memory. To the OP, iPod Classic is really the only alternative, unless you are willing to buy a Creative ZEN 32 GB (no idea how much it is where you are and currently it can work with a 16 GB SD card)
the asian support only works for zune 30 first firmware... so might as well get a flash 32gb instead.. but will cost a lot.
If you don't want a ipod you should check out this website anythingbutipod.com they review all mp3 players other than the ipod and they have this thing where you can compare features between players, here -> http://www.anythingbutipod.com/compare/ I have a Creative and they display chinese characters fine but I've heard that they won't be making hard drive based players from now on? Or you could go for Cowon, I've heard they are pretty good.
i had a creative zen vision M. However... the thing broke RIGHT after the warranty ran out. and when i checked the forums... seems like i'm not the only one to have this problem. Creative might have just built the thing to last EXACTLY 2 years. I'm looking at the cowon and i kinda like it. any info on its Asian text support? Edit: Never mind It does...but hm.. dang.. thats...kinda big... i'm looking at the A3 btw. Re-edit: noticed something interesting too. Cnet doesn't have any reviews of any players with a HDD larger then 20gb since 07. Is there a shift towards smaller capacity / sized players?
The only real shift is that MOST DAP producing companies see flash as the future, and that is why there are no longer many HDD players on the market. Creative used to be on the list after iPod, but it seems that they are no longer producing HDD players, which has been confirmed by spokesman for them. The Cowon D2 should support East Asian Languages, as they are designed in Korea. You should take a look at the Cown D2 16 GB-It does SD memory expandability.
