Getting a sony cr35 laptop soon and it got an Ati x2300 videocard. I am wondering if people got experience with playing games on the Ati x2300 videocard. Does it play games like C&C 3, Call of Duty 4 well on medium quality? Read on some sites that the x2300 is a kinda low end card... but still i am wodnering if it play games like i mentioned well on medium quality.. since i am not a pro gamer who wants uber high quality and shit jojo
uhh.. i don't think any Sony computers can play game.. i own a sony also.. running on intel gma x3100.. from what i read, sony is a bit hard to install games on compared to other systems.. since lots of people using x3100 can play most of the games.. ATI x2300 should run cod4 well.. on super low setting that is.. all laptops mainly have to run on low settings.
C&C3 should be fine as long as u don't go epic amount of units... and COD4 should also be fine because it's a very efficient game... nething beyond COD4, ur asking for hell...
Hmm alright.. well its okay then... arent playing everyday and aint a high end user qua games Like 10k HKD and converting it back to euro's its like.. 870 euros... And in my eyes thats pretty cheap for a vaio (A)
Haha actually it is better ye to get a laptop with better specs and so on For the future  Anyway sony vaio just attracts me too much haha Hard to step over on another brand and dont want to spent to much! Got also other things to buy in hong kong xD
lol have fun getting a vaio.. have fun UNINSTALLING PROGRAMS for about 1 or 2 days mwhahaha -bigsmile.. that took me forever
^^well... duh... first thing u do when u get a retail computer... wipe the hard drive... fresh XP install
Hahah ye i remember when i bought my old vaio, all thoseother stuff is indeed kinda useless ye.. but whatever But why did it took so long? This means that those programs cant just be uninstalled by selecting in software configruration?
i reinstalled my computer+backup os from my sony.. and had to install all old softwares on it.. had to use control panel to uninstall it one by one.. and it takes forever for it to uninstall
Heh, I didn't have to do that with my Alienware. That sucker didn't come with anything I didn't need.
Damn it Anyway we will see! Hopefully i wont be to disappointed (A) Haha What Vaio notebook do you got?
well alienware are rather expensive now so u wouldn't expect it to come with rubbish on it. otherwise ppl wouldn't buy it in the first place cos its not like u can get it from stores now. but i do agree COD4 is a very efficent game, the coding is well so it runs smoothly if u meet the requirements which is gd.
if you are planning to play CC3 and Cod4 with that card....you can just forget about it. if you run 3dmark06 you will see you can only get a score of around 808. (if you dont know what 3dmark06 is, it is a benchmark to tell you how well your computer can handle graphics applications. the higher the number the better. my laptop gets an average of around 9600.) you will have to cod4 with the lowest resolution possible and the lowest settings possible and you can probably get around 20 fps. if you are really planning on playing games with a laptop get one with a better video card. At least get a dedicated card. The ATI X2300 is basically the same as the Intel X1300 which is a integrated card. you would not want to play games on a integrated card...trust me.
Hmmph i know it has low benchmarks, but that i cant play it proper.. it sucks ;/ Hopefully i can choose in HK to replace the videocard.. I think it cant but you never know (A)
true but u also wouldn't rele want to play games on laptops cos they aren't rele designed for gaming anyway.
the card is kind of old and its on the lower end side. the best thing you could replace it with is probably another lower end video card. the laptop was not designed to handle a higher end video card's heat output so your mobo could die on you. if you change the video card you will also void the warranty. i think the newest connection is MXM IV for the higher end laptop video cards so i doubt you can change it anyways.. EDIT: well gaming laptops can play games just fine. i can run crysis with Triple C mod and get around 25 - 50 fps.
