I was wondering if there was a way to get .srt files to work with RMVB files.
I saw from somewhere that it works if you use windows media classic and vobsub.
I have downloaded them both but i still cant get the subs to appear >.<

Can anyone help me with this?

    Thanks in advance ^^

Download Zoom Player Standard V5.02, install with all the plugins from the internet (installation will pull in the common plug in including the "Real Alternative" plug in) which allows you to play most real media videos. The vobsub filter is also installed in this installation process. Then when you drop a real media file into the Zoom Player it will start off the srt subtitles (video file name same as srt file name). Alternatively you can use Windows Media Player but with the Real Alternative Plug in to it (though I am not 100% on this as I usuallu use Zoom Player).

if you get real alternative for windows media player and have a subtitle program like vobsub

as long as both files are named correctly the sub files should work

real alternative is a codec that lets you watch real media type files on WMP

thats what i use to watch rmvb cause i dont like real player

    ^could be a conflicting codec

make sure you remove real alternative codec before installing zoom player (if zoom player already has the real codec built in)

Try the Zoom player with a few different RMVB files from different sources. If they all not play sound then you have a problem with sound in general. You don't have to install Real Alternative separately. It is one of the selections when you install Zoom Player. It goes out to the internet and download the Real Alternative filters. and if only some have no sound then you need an audio decoder that you are missing. Use a program like video inspector to see what audio codec was used for the RMVB file.

One thing to check easily , is that there is a volume control on the bottom left hand corner of the Zoom Player, it is a slider function, slide it to the right to increase sound volume!

Play a MP3 file, if still no sound: then investigate the windows audio settings,

Or you can try using vlc player, it can play all sub file eg. .srt / ,sub / .idx
