wat u can do bbes if you want to get your feet wet is download ubuntu and burn it to a CD...it will run directly from the CD no need to install anything to your computer and you get a chance to learn
oh i got it now and tried it, not gonna install it, it doesn't have the right driver for my wireless dongle and also there's some programs which i prefer on windows. its gd for when i do need it i guess and it supposedly does have like a lot of aesthetically pleasing features.
ayy that bird looks pretty coo.. hahaha is there a way to run it simultaneously with Vista? and does it have all those effects make the desktop all crazy n what not? -lol
couldn't u just install it in windows? but ye u can activate all the visual stuff which i think is pretty cool, but i don't know how to use linux so i can't be bothered to install it at this moment in time.
it won't install into windows bbes because its a operating system on its own and won't use the file system that window uses. You could create another partition on your hard drive to install it and do a dual boot thing...but like knoc was saying vm it is the fastest and has less hassles
but wouldn't it run slower if u use vmware and like u have to register to get vmware with all sorts of questions which i can't answer lol. also, don't u need a lot of ram for vmware?
^ if you consider 2gb a lot of ram or even 1gb... but its recommended that you have 2 anyways if you are running vista with their aero(?) software.... and last i check VMWare wasn't that hard to obtain..... unfortunatly i don't see the need ATM for this cause im barely spending time on my laptop at home and im about to get a new one.... so ill see where this is later.... lol
there is a linux based command line installer...on the winrar site....lol http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm third line.......
