  2. gaming mic are sometimes rather uncomfortable i have a VX revolution and its great i tried my friends MX rev and that thing is so heavy and odd, but a simple one that many people seem to have is the G5

Get the G5. I've read good reviews/feedback on it.

I'm planning on getting one myself.

  4. OP: I have the MX518 and the G5.

you have to know what youre looking for before you choose the mouse. laser mice are only worth it if you plan on using its higher DPI count. that just increases the speed of your mouse cursor, which, depending on the game youre playing, may screw up your control.

MX518: this is my first gaming mouse, its an optical mouse and it goes up to 1600DPI. i am very happy with this mouse, and so are other gamers. 4.5/5

G5: is just an upgrade on the mx518, due to its laser engine. goes up to 2000 DPI if i recall correctly. but in all honesty, i only use around 1600DPI, so the mx518 is a better mouse for me. the g5 has a weight changer, so you can change the weight of your mouse. i put it to max to keep the mouse on the pad.

Both are great mice for gaming, with comfortable feel, and good response.

Razer Copperhead: my friend has this mouse, and its one of the greatest mice for gaming. VERY fast response, and high quality. 3 downsides are: it has a short life (my friend's razers died within a year), it doesnt have the "on the fly" dpi change buttons on the mouse like the mx518 and the g5, and it takes some getting used to. the shape of the mouse feels uncomfortable at first, but you get used to it, and when you do, you will never want to use any other mice than a razer. trust me. my friend refuses to go to any other mice. had a krait, now has a copperhead which is dead. looking for a new razer.

g3: i had to do a comparison with the g5. the g3 is around half a centimeter smaller all around, less customizable buttons, overall a light mouse.

conclusion, i recommend the mx518 if you dont need to use 2000DPI+, the g5 if you do, the copperhead if youre willing to buy one every year.

uhh... no.. not really. my logitech mice are the most comfortable mice ive ever held. ergonomic, and fits right into your palm. sorry but VX and MX rev is shit for gaming tbh.

the vx and mx rev are both cordless mice, NOT made for gaming. cordless mice are TERRIBLE gaming mice because of that period of delay. all gaming mice should be corded. im sorry by your vx and mx rev just dont cut it for gaming.

G5 seems to be the best out there generally speaking...

When it comes to Razers u really have to be wary of their USB problems... friend of mine went through 3 of them in 3 days cuz all 3 had USB issues...

I got $5 Creative Fata1ty mice... haha i mean for $5 u can't go wrong with 2100DPI + weights... and it's actually pretty comfortable for a small mice... tell u the truth... I actually got 2 of these for $5 total... Newegg accidently sent me a second one roflpants... People say they fail after a month... mine's going strong for bout 6months now... and I still have that backup :)

  6. @ dann: i said some gaming mice and all the mice i talked about were from logitech.. i just didn't like the MX as much as i did the VX because it just lighter and less bulky..... but w/e and also i never had problems with my VX and delay, the only time it delays is when you leave it unactive for a long period of time and then wake it up, the response time is rather quick imo but of course it not meant for hardcore gamers and if you ever use one for a long period not like one time, you will know what it's like and its comfortable.... a

  7. vx's are pricey has hell too right =X

i just use a mouse which has a ball controlling the direction, that works pretty well for me though it does take a little time to get used to but once u are used to it, proper gd for shooting games. thats all ive got to say.

Get either the MX518 or the G5.

The VX series mouse especially the Revolution line up is not designed for gaming. The DPI values are very low and it will feel very sluggish in games. Look for something with higher DPI. The MX518 is the best (logitech) value for money with the G5 next in line. Personally, I feel that using a wireless mouse for gaming is pretty silly unless you don't mind switching batteries during game play. If you have the time, try out different mice to see how they fit your hand. Different mice fit differently into your hands, find one that fits you. Also, don't over look Razor mice they're also very good.

  10. TRACKBALL MICE?!?! FOR GAMES?!?! im sorry..... but thats a big nono :(

well.. if you like it, then its your choice..

    word.

why do so many ppl have this mouse? whats so gd about it? also, i don't see the point in getting a new mouse if u have one already. chances are if ur rubbish at a game and ur current mouse isn't too bad, this mouse won't drastically improve it.

it rly depends on ur play style... i'm a guy who likes an incredibly sensitive mouse, but at the same time, i don't want the mouse to play light... so I run somewhere around 1400dpi and a high in game sensitivity to compensate... i can't stand when ball mice get stuck from dust or their heavy weight...

  17. when i play RTS games, i need high sensitivity for a slightly quicker motion.

when i snipe in cs or something, i need low sensitivity for precision.

the mx518 and the g5 has "on the fly" buttons that allow you to change it without going through the settings.

  18. either way i did recommend the G5 lol i just like my VX cause i got it for free and it has been the best mouse i have used for casual everyday use lol

ye i know but i have one which has like a sensor rather than the usual things, dunno what they are called lol, so when dust is there it still seems to work pretty well. also its a lot easier to clean and to get rid of the dust.
