    ye i know about partitions. why do u need to test so many os anyway?

    Is he the hacker or just a crack head. L:OL, just joking. I also dont see why u have so many windows. just runing two windows is good enough.

    a lot of it is used for testing purpose. i use the virtual machines as a test lab where i use it to implement changes to servers before i put it on live servers. That way if i apply a patch to a live server it won't kill it and i'll be stuck in the server room for days fixing it.

    another reason is so you can learn the OS without having to buy a box for each of the different os's that you want to learn and use. Say you want to learn and other applications you would need to buy a copmuter for each of them, but with virtual machines you just need one big hard drive, decent amount of ram and your set

    couldn't partitions just be used though? but then i guess this stops u having to reboot all the time.
