I don't understand why they are charging the BF for a stupid crime like "mistreatment of a dependent adult". I mean he is being charged because he was a nice person. If he had just left the GF in the bathroom and never went back to see her, he wouldn't be charged with anything.

but dont you think that the bf deserves something? he didnt tell anybody about her condition for 2 years! and it took her ass to be stuck on the toilet seat before he said anything! maybe he did something to traumatize her and that's why she refused to leave the bathroom. she would have been 33 yrs old when she went in there and if there were no prior signs to her having a problem then he must have done something. what about her family?? what logical parent wouldnt start to wonder why their child hasnt gone over to their house! in 2 yrs. all these ppl are just crazy!!!!
Again the BF is not legally binded to tell anyone anything. Its not like it was his home, or he locked her up.
Agreed! he must have even fed her and everything... and its not like he didnt try to get her out of the washroom. I wouldve kicked her out of my house at the 8 hour mark ^^
a grown man cant force a woman out of the bathroom??? you guys seriously think that he couldnt force her out?? it's not one day it's two years she spent in there. so yeah, i do think he deserves to be punished somehow for his lack of common sense to get help after 1 month and the brains to use his braun to force her out. if this were someone in a hospital or care home ppl would be sreaming neglect. this is along the same lines. he became her primary care giver when she refused to come out and he had to bring food and water. when she started to get sores she required medical attention and he didnt get it for her. it took a month and her being stuck before he sought help. again, if this were a hospital/care home ppl would be calling him an asshole.
but she had a sickness or some type of phobia right....forcing her out might cause some permanent damage to her mentally....but he could've called someone, like a psychologist or someone to help talk to the woman....but its not really his responsibility...i mean he cared for her.......if he got punished...it's like the law would be more in his favor...if he broke up with her in the first week of her condition, and left her for dead...and it wouldn't be his fault because he had no relationship with her.... the law and moral values just don't connect sometimes lol...
Maybe she had a 2 years long diarrhea or constipation problem? >_> Seriously though, this story is honestly hard to believe. I mean shit.... unless the bf glued her to the seat or she glued herself or something. Just hard to believe....
If the BF would have used his braun to force her to come out of the bathroom he could have been charged with assault, see the double edge sword here? By no means the BF is her primary care giver, he would have only become her primary care taker legally if they were married or it was ruled by the court that he was. Also in your example of the patient in a hospital or home care, the people are paid to take care of the patients and they are binded legally to the welfare of the patients while a BF is not.
this is so stupid. i don't think the guy's at fault. and eeeek sitting in the toilet for that long. how can she stand it?
the bf must lack intelligent. if my gf was in the toilet for more then 2 hours i will go in, if i ask and she didn't reply, i would of smacked the door open.
