    hm...how about this?
Is there anyone that has gone to SHUI SHAM PO and sucessfully gotten one of those DS packages with a DS, Case, R4, and memory card? If you have, can you please give me the store name? Or some sort of a location that I can trace to?

    Thank you.

just go there and take a look
even if you got the storename you will have a hard time finding the shop.
its a maze in there. and some of them are of the same owners. so just go browsing and get nice offers.

check your stuff before you take it home. but thats common sense.

All the shops will sell DSs, but you will have to make a call on which one to buy from. They all there to do business, so long as you know how much your willing to pay, no one will be able rip you off.
If you dont like the shop, just walk 2 steps to the next one and ask them. Its really all the same in there tbh

just go to as many as you want and see whats the best deal you can ask for.

ye i agree it is a maze in there and some shops can be rather expensive so take ur time to browse through quite a few. though last time i went i thought that downstairs was cheaper like the ground floor but could have changed now and most of the shops offer the ds with the r4 and memory card. not too sure about the case. though u can always tell them to chuck it in cos with some shops u can lower the price slightly or haggle for some extra items lol.

the best way is to go to a few stores get a feeler for their price and see which ones will offer you the best deal for what you want. the prices are all about the same they may vary 100HKD here and there but they are all almost the same. don't go on impulse be indecisive and if they can see that they will try to get the sale by say giving you a free thing or 2 or lowering the price a bit to get you hooked and buying the game

actually they should be about the same but there are a few scattered about which can be ridiculously high in price. there were a few that were like 200 hkd more which was rather absurd. those are scattered in the best positions though so ye don't buy on impulse. also, sometimes if they try to get u to buy it on impulse by adding stuff in, the stuff they add are usually very cheap or rubbish.

i brought a ds jus yesterday from shum sui po for my gf!
u pratically CANT buy the ds by itself, it always comes wit screen protectors+r4+micro sd card.
Itll cost u around $1200HKD-$1300HKD for the american import model and around $1400 for the japan model. not too sure on the hk import tho but itll cost more.
R4 by themselves (wit micro sd) is around $300HKD-$330HKD

As for phones/cameras thers a shop near one of the exits wher they sell rather cheap forgot shop name =S

for clothes go Megabox or APM take a look around maybe since they only like 2-3 bus stops from each other, or get off the MTR @ Sha Tin thers a massive shopping centre(x3) ther too. Causeway bay as well boutiques everywheras soon as u get off MTR.

cd/dvds japan/korea/taiwan/hk/china related stuff go to wong kok @ SINO shopping mall

be careful when your buying phones for really cheap compared to other shops cause afew of the shops in hk sold the phones without warranty when i asked them why it was so cheap
as for electronics i gt ipods for £160 many months back at mong kok for the 80gb which was really cheap back then, although i brought 3 so they reduced it another 10% or somin.

lol those aren't worth a lot....it's like 12 bucks for a nice package here in Canada....so it's probably worht next to nothing in HK. I dont' get wat you mean by "from 1400" so you mean some of them sell for 1400? THat's expensive T___T Oh, how much did the one you bought for your gf cost? If you don't mind me asking you =)

    - In reply to the person above metzo:
Well...if it's a fake..then it can be easily distinguished right? I haven't really heard of a "fake" ds....or is there? If there is, please inform me. Thanks for the piece of advice -smart

trouble is its quite hard to haggle them down, its more like a set price. better chance of like including stuff and saving some money there tbh. i reckon about $1290 is prob realistic. and yes some areas can sell them for like $1400 onwards so its always useful to look around.

lol I don't have very good bargaining skills....that's for sure. I can get my mom to do it though, she's awesome at those types of things :D

Well...unless you guys can think of anything else, I think that's it. Thanks to everyone that helped me! I will be going to HK in a couple of days! Yay :D
