Nike Shox are good for running, not sure if you can get it for under 70, but definitely around 80-100. Had a pair for 2 - 3 years before I threw them out.

nike do make very comfortable running shoes i agree. though i think best thing is to go to a shoe shop and decide which is most comfortable and within ur budget which also that u think looks gd in design.

new balance may not be stylish... that's because they're functional.... i think their running shoes are the best

nike has some "gimick-y" ones... but they tend to be more expensive...

    am currently running in nikes.

if you can find a new balance outlet near you, go there. they're like 30-60 bucks and there are some pretty good ones just because of the huge selection.

Nike just came out with this ultra lightweight shoe. Its made of mesh. I forget what it was called, but it was pretty sweet.

for your budget, I say got a outlet store and get NIKE or reebok, but it is still going to be ugly. Hey you did say no New balance. But tell you the truth New Balance makes the most comfortable running shoe I ever worn. They specialize in running shoe, it is not all ugly just spent a little more and it look good. But for NIke and reebok you are buying the name. GET YOURSELF A PAIR OF NEW BALANCE IF YOU A SERIOUS ABOUT RUNNING.

I'm not going to suggest any brands or styles but I will say this. You should take the time and head off to a shoe store and try on some different pairs. You'll get various suggestions, which might not be wrong but odds are it's not your fit. Try on different shoes and walk around in them for a bit and see which is most comfortable for you.
