9800 is good but I already have 8800. Anyway, my computer spec is AMD athlon 64X2 Dual Core processor 3800+ 2Ghz, and 3gb of Ram running windows xp home edition SP2 with other modifications.
800w is way too much money.. i'll say just go with 600w is already enough... 8800 doesn't take that much watt....
yea well it depends on computer specifications. if the 8800 is the only power eater then yes 500-600w is good enough. thats why i was asking for specs. i was curious if he was those kind of people with like a quad core processor, 4 cd drives, 3 hard drives 8gb ram and uses alot of external devices that doesnt have an ac outlet to power it... well if the 8800 is the only power eater then stick to the 600w. btw 9600 sucks. just that the price is lower than the 8800 but speed is around the same. and the 9600 is just like the 8800. heats up very fast so your gonna require something that is very cool. otherwise your motherboard will get burnt out easily xP im open for critizing ^_^ gimme what you got lol jkjk
Depending on the components that you have (number of hard drives, CPU-Core2Duo or QuadCore, Memory, Optical drives) the more power the better. Last year I installed a Thermaltake TOUGHPOWER 600watt power supply into a AMD Opertron with Geforce 8800 and 5x 500GB hard drives running RAID 10. The power supply died after 1-week. I installed CoolerMaster 850Watt and everything is fine now.
wow.. you must be rich... 5 500gb hard drive... hard drive don't take that much power.. mainly the cpu and the vid card taking a lot of power.... especially if your an overclocker..
dang 5x500gb in a raid 10....are you running massive sql servers or something? but i'm suprised that the 600W powersupply didn't survive that opteron shouldn't be pulling that much wattage
OMG, what are you guys. I do not need a strong computer. Just decent is okay for me. Anyway, my 14.88 buck's power supply is here and im using it. Everything seems fine for now,.
