yea good question.. if you have a 250w supply... the 8800 can't even do any good.. well it can probably start, but if you want to try playing games or something like that.. it'll be like.. down.. since theres not even enough power...

That's why I'm testing out some games. Right now, Im downloading the game called Need for speed prostreet reload. IF that game works, then fuck the power supply.

  5. lol lets hope it doesnt explode.. -lol

prostreet on my 7800GT runs ok not on max but good looking and playable at 1280x1024

if ya really wana stress test the card wait for Assassins Creed PC.... steeper requirements that Crysis...... -dead

If you want to stress test your machine, why spend the money on games when you can run benchmarking and stress testing software you can download....for free?

    Here's some things to google
    FurtureMark
    Orthos
    Prime95

^ah they are all synthetic benchmarks, never representative of real life :p

prime95 is for stressing the CPU????? also you can always download games for "free" just for testing purposes :D

You can't guarantee that the game will push the system to the absolute limits. With stress testing, the sole purpose of the tests are to determine whether or not the system is stable under 100% load. Synthetic or not, overclockers have been using them for years as a method of testing the stability of their overclocks.

when buying a power supply...ALWAYS CHECK THE AMP rating on the rails. some power supplys can be expensive and all but wont ever supply enough amps to the rails. buy one thats rated for the 8800 requirement of i think 26 or something amps on the PCIE rails.

wth only 250 psu? mine pc was is pretty old n i got 300 psu

250 psu is not enough to run the 8800 u need 500 standard aleast

tbh i though it wont let u run it anyway 8800 needs alot of power since its a abig graphic card dont ur pc crash?

  12. and what if you wanna burn cds while you game.. hmm give that a try and see what happens..

i wouldn't run a 8800 on a 250W power supply your going to have constant rebooting on the system because your system won't be getting efficient power to all of the components. I've had a under watted power supply and my system was rebooting every so often when i was playing video games because the video card was drawing too much power making the system unstable. An unstable system means usually a higher risk of other components failing because your spiking voltages to other parts of the system.

www.newegg.com is probably the best place to get stuff for cheap as they always have sales for stuff.

wait....explain to me what youa re doing with the fan? if you are using it to cool video card that is a bad idea as the fan is going to draw power that your goin to need for the video card.....
