i had one scraf like 1-2 years back, a red one i bought from old navy that came w/ a hat lol it was cheap, and it was cold out, so i was like wtheck i liked it for a little bit, but i got tired of it cuz the design was really non-existent, it was just plain red, and i started seeing more... umm, metro people wear scarfs, which itsn't so bad tbh, but i didn't really wanna dress like them becuz it puts me in that category? lol but i still like the way they dress so i go back and forth @ times so what do you guys think of guys wearing scarfs? i think it's pretty good depending on the way you dress overall, although some scarf can be categorized as old fashion, ugly, or just too fruity/gay looking for men to wear (cause you know, how those sterotype insults on t.v. shows show actors who are gay to always wear a scraf even when it's not cold?) so yeah, iono where do you guys find good scarf for cheap price and what goes good w/ scarfs usually? like a pea coat or what not? - also i think it looks really cute on girls during a cold day and if it's worn on the right coat.
Scarf? You mean like winter scarf right? Not silk scarf (those are for women and only French painters can wear them besides the stereotypical gay men, although to be honest I don't know any guy who own any silk scarf, gay or otherwise) For a guy, design and fabric is EVERYTHING in clothes. You need a subdued colour scheme (gray looks good and is versatile) yet you want to be playful in its design (prints in different shades of the same colour is often a good choice)... Do NOT wear a black scarf, it's pretentious unless you work at a funeral home or that type of work-with-a-lot-of-funerals-and-dead-people type of job. Burberry checker scarf is overrated, especially the brown ones... The only ones I can stand now is the black/white/gray ones. And it better be cashmere. @OP: I think you care too much about stereotyping, that can't be good for your health.
^omg...hiake, i soooo agree wit u on the burberry scarf thing. sooo overdone...like freaking LV bags. ugh.... but scarf on a guy...i don't really have any objections to it. i've seen guys wear it and doesn't seem to be a big deal. unless one day, like hiake already stated, i see a guy wearing a silk one or something)
yeah i know what u mean hiake, i ain't that sterotypical, althoug hi might sound like it , i really just wear what i want, and what i want is a scarf that wont make me look gay (haha >.>) black/white/grays one was what's up!, but iono where to find a good one -.- oo i know what u talkin bout w/ the burberry scarf , yeah they look relaly good on girls who dresses more conservative, but i don't really like them on guys either LOL@ SILK SCARFS, i really didn't know what that was, but im definitely not referring to that!, it looks gay, on guys, and it looks ugly, on girls. the end =)
omg u don't dress ur own style? do you really care wat ppl thikn of you? its cold outside and u rather feel embarassed???? i always rock my black gap scarf in the winter....to me its style and warth for my head
When fashion goes down to mass market, it's no longer fashion, just clothes... It's so true if you follows the flow chart of fashion week, by the time the clothes actually hit store and available for purchase, you already got TOTALLY fed up by it because you've been seeing it forever (like for the past 4 months) Some guys can carry silk scarf without so much as looking gay or whatnot, but they are a rarity and already in the list of endangered species. So totally stereotypical. Strictly speaking, almost ALL of those Asian male celebrities exhibit certain stereotypical "gayness", Hong Kong people tend to call it "kidult"... They fragging dress like repressed closet cases, feminine (stereotypical gay), "pretty" (again, gay)... I find it kind of tasteless that people follow trends (and celebrities) which are totally "gay-looking" while saying "I don't want to look gay"... If your masculinity is so fragile as to be questionable in the manner you dress, you don't have a lot of masculinity to begin with. Get over it. -angry Male homophobia annoys me (don't even get me started on how they would go "I don't mind homosexuals, I LOVE lesbian actions") <_< /rant
im not that homophobia, i have had my share fair of homosexual friends >:O, and im TOTALLY fine w/ my masculine, i even admit iwatch dramas and stuff, pretty girly imo! okay that's steriotypical too, but i don't mind being sterotypical, i live in a sterotypical environment, as long as i don't submit, it's all good! hehe
You just have an uninspired fashion sense. Or you haven't seen awesome exotic styles... -pirate Silk scarf on girls can be stunning... The true winter spirit. You are definitely submitting to the pressure of stereotyping... -rolleyes
I don't see how a scarf would make you look gay unless you carry yourself that way. Besides, who says that homosexuals are lacking in masculinity? I've seen a couple who are pretty manly myself.
I don't see wearing a scarf would suddenly make a guy look gay. However, the stereotypic gay guy were usually less masculine (or extremely macho, because they are closeted and hate every last thing related to gay)... Stereotyping is depressing...
i like guys wearing scarf... my ex used to wear the scarf i made him kekeke... i thought that was so sweet -^_^
lol i like when Jiro wore a Scarf , lol so sexy , Dawn u wanan make me a scarf lol , i cant find any at kmart
fine fine, i lose, i fall into a sterotypical person :( but it's not like i'm a bad person who judges ppl by sterotypes, im just afraid that i'll be judged by sterotypes but i guess that's just as bad, cause you mentioned that in the first response and didn't really realize what u mean "@OP: I think you care too much about stereotyping, that can't be good for your health." haha thanks.. hopefully i won't care as time progresses >.> NYWAYS xD
Even though I am not a religious person, but I too believe in "do unto others as you would have them do to you"... It's karma, serious
i learned an interesting fashion tip for those more fasionable scarves that do nothing for warmth wear one a contrasting color to your clothes, than find matching colored earrings, looks kinda cool
^ Frost? I thought they look kind of cool with the tribal... Though to be honest, they can as well be frost LOL
^lol .yea probably frost since it is like the winter season and stuff . but the first time i saw i was like wtf ?! LOL
