I've got this feeling sometimes that can last throughout a day it's like there is a needle in my rib It's not the same rib bone each time though sometimes a lower or higher bone, sometimes on left sometimes on right Everytime i go to a new doctor I mention it and they just ignore me one of them finally told me it's not life threatening, and there are amillion things it could be so it's not worth the time/money/effort to go through testing for something that someone could just bare through i'm thinking "go eat a tylenol" anyways, any one know what it is?
Ah...I've had that before. Psychogenic pain? Haha...seriously speaking, I bet the docs dont' know what it is either. But they're right when they tell you that it's nothing serious. Does it really bother you that much?
my guess is that in your ribs there are some lubricant which fits between the bone and the lungs. Sometimes the lubricant may wear off and thus the lung will...lets say..."bump" or even "grind" the rib bone thus you experience some sort of painful discomfort. Dont worry, it happens to everyone But one question is...how often does this happen?
Oooo From The Thread Title..i Thought You Mean 'pins And Needles'.. Coz I Get That When Im Sat Crossed-legged Or When Im Sat On A Chair But Like Sat On One Leg Folded So When Ya Leg Kinda Goes Numb For A Bit But Then It Goes....
Hmmm, if it happens once every 2-5 weeks and etc. Then its not much of an issue. But if it occurs regularly / frequently and / or it DOES cause some discomfort bring it up to the GP and tell him that it occurs occasionally. Just dont say "Oh doc, umm...yeah there is this pain in my chest when i breath. Like a stabbing pain". Be more specific. Im quite surprised that he/she said "there are amillion things it could be". God, like catching a cold or staying up late could be on of the reasons behind your discomfort. Eesh...
Only happen in your ribs? Sometimes I have this pain in my leg that just hurts so much! I heard it's nothing to worry about, and a lot of people have it, but this occurrence is not as frequent as yours... I would go back to the doctor and just ask if there was anyway to prevent it or just make it less frequent.
Hmm...if it really does, then make sure you bring it up to your doc first thing when you see him, instead of like an after thought. I don't think tylenol is going to help you much You know what? I think you'd get more attention for the pain in your legs. Haha...seriously. What kind of pain are you referring to? Stabbing, pricking, burning? Or is it an ache? Where? Just out of curiousity...-sweat
