i just got a nikon d50 =) so nice!! i guess its all up to personal preference/budget/use of course u won't take a dslr to nite club or soemthing like that for party fotos hehehe
i recently sold my nikon s1 and got a very cheap kodak v603... for simple users ok... think what to chang enow
I have the Casio Exilim EX-S500, its really nice and thin! But if you have a higher budget, go for the Casio Exilim EX-S600
I bought the canon IXUS izoom at ebuyer.com. It is at least £80 cheaper than other websites (like amazon.com etc).
Yes yes I'm digging up a two year old thread, but I actually have something to add or at least ask. I'm looking to buy a new camera soon. I would just like to hear some suggestions. I want something portable with good picture quality and a good optical zoom is a bonus. As for price range I'm not to sure yet. I thought I would just take your suggestions and go from there price wise. But try to keep the prices pretty reasonable. And no SLR's. Don't have that much money :\. Right now I'm interested in some Canon cameras, but I'm no expert at picking out cameras. Suggestions ppl?
dam bad kao!!! digging up a 2 year old thread lol.. interested in kodaks? kodaks have somewhat good zooms... sanyo.. no one is very interested in sanyo.. since it's not popular brand and the one i was gonna say for sanyo was Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG6... but its a 2006-2007 release camera.. lolz canon sd1000 is pretty good for taking pictures price range is $150-$200 USD... but the zoom is only 3x op..
I was only doing researches on SLRs so can't have anything specific to recommend, just keep in mind that higher MP doesn't necessarily means a better picture or even better resolution. It all depends on the lens. Canon is a good brand to start, don't go with anything SONY because the horror stories are rampant (breaking down a year after purchase almost exact to the day, so no warranty for repairs) I used to like Pentax but it's been having mixed products (some are extraordinarily great while others are only so-so for their price)
Lol Sony is already on my not to buy list. Ya I remember like a couple years ago when more MP did mean better pic quality. Haven't been following cameras ever since... So I'm kind of a noob...
No offense (I am not sure if you are secretly a pro photographer or something ), but unless you've got some ultra HD monitor to see your photos with, or print it out in poster size, a 7-8M suffice if you got a good lens with it. If you can, ask Taxloss about it, she's pretty in the loop with photography.
Lol I'm not trying to go pro or anything. Just looking to get a new camera. Haven't seen taxloss for a while :\
whats the price range.. thats the most important part >.< without the price range.. its gonna be hard to give advice..
my mom got me mine for graduation gift, i waws so happy, turns out i wasn't as much of a camera whore as i thought i would be haha but i still love it =) it is a.. powershot canon a550 i think or 560 the price range for these are relatively expensive depending on the model and where you get it, but the quality is great, it can take videos, night photos, etc, etc, like 100x zoom which was insane when i went to the warriors game and sitting @ nose bleed. but, yeah iono wait till black friday ftw
well higher MP did mean better pic quality wen we were stuck in the 1MP era... anything more than 3 and u'll never notice the difference on a standard 6x4 printout with the newer gen stuff, theres not too much difference noticable, unless ur one of the pro's only reason u'd want extra high MP is so u can print out big poster sizes even then, the print out probably cost more than anything else... oh and i'd say nikon ftw! =D at least for slr lol
have old canon sd400 gal got sd850. wow.. jump from 4m 2 8m is impressive what suggestions 2 upgrade? saw others with sd870 wide angel, large 3" lcd or sx100 with 10x zoom. sd400 still works, just old n slow.
